Not as bad as what it couldve have been, but still 15 days wont be nice for her.

Some Muslims in this country go to a pro-terror march praising the 9/11 bombings or the anti Danish cartoon death threats and we stand there and look at them and the left let a few more in.

Some fat scouser calls a teddy bear Muhammed and gets jail....Where is the logic.

Well, some of those who were on that march WERE jailed for inciting racial hatred. It's not the "left" who run the government, it's the right-of-centre Labour government and they're following the rules laid down in the UN charter.

The "fat" scouser as you call her broke the law in a foreign country - yes the law may of been archaic and frankly laughable, but she broke it. TBH it's political rather than religious and the jail sentence doesn't give the impression of Sudan backing down against the west.

As for aid - it's the innocents who are suffering, the Christian in Darfur are the majority of refugees who are being f**ked over by their own government as they give free reign to the Muslim militants.

As I've said before, many, many Muslim groups are outraged over this as well, as it is yet another divide between the Christian west and the Muslim world...but of course the media don't report that do they.

Just step back for a minute and look at your reply. Ignore the rather coarse way that DtS put it but how in any way shape or form can you or anyone else possibly justify what these savages, these medieval, barbaric inhuman savages are doing? I have taken the time to read the Koran and the bible as any self respecting atheist would and no where in the Koran does it condone or encourage violence towards others.

Maybe saying you are justifying it was rather strong (badly worded in fact) but I can see exactly where Dave is coming from and to a degree I agree with him. Aid workers from the west go out to countries like Sudan to help and are treated like dirt, threatened, kidnapped and even murdered yet they still do it. Countless people dig deep in their pockets for Christian Aid, Oxfam and The Red Cross to help the needy in these countries we call third world. Every year we are bombarded with appeals from Children in Need and Comic Relief where the bulk of funds raised head abroad. And the government send millions overseas from our hard earned tax dollars which sticks in the throat when you see things like this on the news.

If they hate the West then why except aid from the West? We hate you but we like your money Is that the way of these Muslim countries that are so far stuck in the Stone Age that they can barely exist without hand-outs? Allah is Great, Down with Boosh and burn a couple of flags for the cameras but don't forget that monthly payment from Hilary Benn. Where's the tolerance that we have to show from these lovers of God?

This is meant to be the 21st Century and the west is expected to show tolerance of all faiths from all parts of the world. I say that that is becoming harder by the day when tolerance doesn't work both ways.

I will not give respect to those that cannot return the same courtesy and will not except religion over human decency.

There was some woman from a Fair Trial organisation on Five Live last night , adding support to the womans case (in which she didn't add that there was any evidence that an unfair trial had taken place) . Similar organisations have been slated when trying to take up the cases of those imprisoned in Guantanamo bay as being interfering lefties etc (and those have not had a trial, let alone an unfair one) .
This does seem to be bringing out the "She must be defended , it must be a bad law ,she's Christian" in people similarr to the "he must be a terrorist, out laws are never wrong, he's Muslim (or Irish ,don't forget the grave miscarriages of justice WE were responsible for in the 70's and 80's)

I also find it interesting that this incident is all over the papers yet the Rachel Nickell Murder case has slid down the reporting scale, conveniently masking that Colin Stagg spent a year in prison and many years of harrassment for something his didn't even do.

Sudans religion based (and biased) Laws may seem stupid to us but we are hardly perfect on the justice front

You said it above theres. In the Koran it states that voilence can be used when under the threat of those who would attack islam itself , hpwever it does not state that non combatants should be harmed . What your describing above is 1000's of years of patriarchal prejudice (i.e the people in charge at a political level using what they can to justify their own views) . Its not just the East but th West as we can cleary say has been doing this since the birth of what we call civilisation.The charties you mention aide people who cannot help themsleves , and are usually if not alwasy kept or have been in an ignorant position (if your people know squat they generaly wont complain (Murdochs media empire can be seen as a global version of this in some case)). At the end of the day its not the method we need to hate its the individuals using it. This tosh that evil would not exisit if "relgion" didnt is generaly banded around by well educated but soically ignorant and arogant people who believe their egos are there to super impose themsleves on the world and people around them.

but this is not about them hating the west, its about them having a law of the land applying to everyone who is there , much the same as our laws. Anyone who does not follow the laws of a land (whether we agree with the law or not) leaves themselves open to the countries legal system.

In this case the particular Law appears to have been interpreted by the authorities a little bit too literally, and the Sudanese punishments seem a bit stricter than ours , but I certainly don't see anything "anti western" in this case at all.

Btw which Muslim countries are you refering to as barely existing without hand outs , as a number of Aid receiving countries are Christan

I cant believe this story, it is such a load of bollox!! I am glad she is not getting lashings, I am sure it will be a terrible 15 days for her, but then she can return to our "normal" counrty, and her family, probably the best outcome she could have expected to be honest.

1) they speak english
2) they are in good health
3) they have a job lined up
4) they cant bring a coach load of relatives who can offer nothing to the country.
