Where was the Blues Voice????

I for one was very disappointed.

Play-off semi against a bunch of Yorkies? We should have lit beacons in the East Yellows, charged with plutonium potato guns from the West, had Fatima Whitbread throwing javelins with a haemhorroid chemical on the tip from the South and Flavs farting in the faces. With TBV poking their eyes out with the flagpoles. The atmosphere was indeed disappointing when expectations were rightly at that sort of level.

I shall write to my MP.

I was sat in the Blue Voice for only the second time and the atmosphere was frankly amazing. Didn't stop singing all game, top effort everyone.

best crowd moment was when we sang "Darryl do you hate Col Ewe?" and he responded by pretending to be a boxer, so he obviously heard us.

I can't make the Donny away leg, cos my mate is getting married that day, but keep up the fantastic support this friday.

I'm sure we will make a noise at the Keepmoat on Friday as well. Keep trying the 'Sing Up' song it will sound better at away games & should catch on.

Yep, the chant that a few of us spent many a late night putting together, really took off in a big way in the West Stand on Friday night. It sounded great. Same again this Friday please people.

Here's the lyrics for those of you that don't know them yet...

"When Southend United come out to play, SING UP, SING UP...
When Southend United come out to play, SING UP, SING UP...
When Southend United come out to play, we sing at home and we sing away...

We all follow the Essex boys in blue"

"Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, naaaaaa, na, naaaaaa...
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, naaaaaa, na, naaaaaa...
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na...

We all follow the Essex boys in blue"

Bang on mate.

The atmosphere in Blocks V, W and X was without doubt the best it has been in a long, long time. If not ever...

Overall the atmosphere around the whole ground was probably the best it has been since Norwich or Man Ure last season, maybe even topping it?...

Well done all.

that's become a ritual when Flavs is keeping at the north bank end!

just for the recrod someone I work with lives by chalkwell park said they clearly heard us on friday

I thought the atmosphere at Roots Hall on Friday was electric.

The ground was a sea of blue, and in the minutes leading up to kick-off the combination of the usual music, flag waving and singing made me proud.

Throughout the game the singing was loud, and the mood throughout our fans was extremely positive, even when players weren't at their best, and when passes were mis-placed, the positivity was exceptional.

I take my hat off to Smiffy and those involved in the organisation of The Blue Voice, and to our Chairman for showing his support to their plight.

The voluntary efforts of these individuals shows that within the core and heart of our club there are those that will make the extra effort and make the difference.

Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances I was not in my usual seat in the West on Friday, and I sat in the East.

My opinion was that everybody in the East, West & South played their part in getting behind the team in a positive manner.

I watched a re-run of the game on Sky later in the evening and I think the place and sounded great, even the commentators said that the Southend fans were singing their hearts out.

WELL DONE to everyone who contributed to an amazing atmosphere.

sorryi think the orginal post on this thread is bo***cks, the west stand was unbeliveable friday! top work everyone the same this coming friday!

My mate at work said he could hear us from Southend Airport, thats how loud we actually were!!!
