Question What is making you happy today?

Get them to sort the flags out both are hanging upside down.

The correct orientation of the Union Flag when flying is with the broader diagonal band of white uppermost in the hoist (i.e. near the pole) and the narrower diagonal band of white uppermost in the fly (i.e. furthest from the pole).

Whilst no pole in the picture it'seasily identified on the flag by a seam of white strip where the eyelets would be.

Chelmsford lost the home leg of the cup semi 1-6.

They won the away leg 0-5 and then got the winner in overtime.
That's one thing I'm definitely useless at, seeing the puck when it flies through the air on a hard shot. It's just too fast. Is it just me? I just see the result, it hitting the goalie or the net. I always thought they should try a different colour, or illuminous or something, regarding the puck.

They tried it for TV a while ago where the puck almost looked like a comet with a tail. It looked ridiculous but maybe with better technology and better TV resolution, they could try it again. I guess I've kinda got used to it over the years but tracking the puck can be tough, for sure.

It’s easier when you are at the game and at NIHL1 level you can get quite very close to the ice, especially at Chelmsford.

The players may be a little slower than the NHL as well!

It is certainly a lot easier to follow the puck when you are there in person, even at the NHL level. The hockey I usually get to see is top level junior (17-21 year olds) and it's fast but you are very close to the action. Also cheaper than going to the football at Roots Hall.

My eldest son is refereeing his first ever football match this afternoon. It's a year nine school match. He's done all the online training and the day and a half practical instruction. He just needs to ref 5 matches to complete his qualification.

I think next week he's down to ref our match with Fylde!

(The one thing I like that the Herts FA have provided alongside a whistle, flags, notebooks, and red and yellow cards, is a hi-vis armband that says "U18 Referee". Hopefully some parents on Saturdays and Sundays take notice of it.)

My youngest son has just passed his grade 4 drumming with a merit. He was about 3 marks away from a distinction.

He's doing GCSE music and was told that, so long as he's at grade 4 or 5 by the time of his assessment, he'll be fine for the practical. He's just now started grade 5 and has a year to pass so he's very much on track to do well there.
