Question What is making you happy today?

Interestingly, we had two windows that weren't working properly. One wouldn't close snuggly against the frame so there was a draft and the other wouldn't stay closed. We've had a couple of double glazing people look at them without success which started me thinking they needed replacing.

However, my wife found a very small company locally who came and fixed both for £120 each. I reckon they've saved us a couple of grand at least.
Probably an ill fitting hinge on the window not in the correct position. A new pair of hinges placed into the correct position would close the gap or they may re-purpose the current hinges and drill new holes through ensuring they are closer to the frame than existing fitting.

Without a doubt. DG Servicing at the Bell are a similar firm, but although they could replace all of our old sealed units, as our D/Glazing was original Everest (45 yrs old), they couldn't source replacement gaskets.

No new holes, and no new hinges. I'm not sure what he did because I didnt watch, but it's 100% fixed.
