We've finally come to the end of just under 4 weeks of work done on the house. Finally all the dust and noise is over, and I don't have to continuously close the front door that nearly all the various trades seem to like leaving open.

We're due to have the remaining double glazing replaced today/tomorrow so I rang the firm and explained we have Covid. The girl in the office said 'oh, I've had it five times' and then told me the fitters would still be coming. Sure enough, they have arrived this morning so we are masked up all day. I think I'm happy.

Interestingly, we had two windows that weren't working properly. One wouldn't close snuggly against the frame so there was a draft and the other wouldn't stay closed. We've had a couple of double glazing people look at them without success which started me thinking they needed replacing.

However, my wife found a very small company locally who came and fixed both for £120 each. I reckon they've saved us a couple of grand at least.
