It's very strange at Waitrose Southend near Garons. So every Sunday they sell the cooked whole chickens off cheap usually between 4.15 and 4.35pm. They close at 5pm Sunday unlike most other supermarkets that shut at 4pm. The shoppers are shopping but keeping an eye to see a little red ticket go up. All of a sudden there will be no one to a queue of about 20 in no time. They do Garlic, Barbeque and normal roast chickens. The strange thing is the price seems to be different each time. All chickens same price on the day, but I have bought them recently for £3.40, £2.50, £3.80 and £2.70 and £2.90 reduced from£7ish. I,m wondering out of curiosity, does the lady on the counter just think of a number on the day?3 packs of Waitrose Duchy organic raw king prawns, reduced from £15.75 ( for the 3 ) to £5.07p!.
Right place at right time ( 1/2 hr before they closed ).
When I was there on Thursday evening, they were selling their own range for £1.70, reduced from £5.50.It's very strange at Waitrose Southend near Garons. I like the Sunday ones as they are piping hot, and I just have to pop some ready made roast potato's and other bits in the air fryer, finished off with gravy of course, for a quick Sunday roast. When I was there on Thursday evening, they were selling their own range for £1.70, reduced from £5.50.
Not started ours yet -waiting for our 2 year old grandaughter's "help" on Sat.The Xmas Decs are finished.
Thought Morgan's was a rum -not too sure about your first choce of whisky though .(Perhaps that's the best they can do in Corringham).Little old lady came up to me in Morrison's, Corringham and asked if Captain Morgan's was a decent whisky I directed her to the bottles of Bells.
