They were in and out in an hour, shredded the top half of the tree on our driveway and splattered a load of the aphids we were getting rid off over her bottle brush bush, she was not happy!

After 17 long months of hassle ( rubbish Surveyors report, Land Registry incompetence twice ), contracts exchanged today & completion tomorrow, on partners late Mum's house.
Thank goodness we had a very patient family who weren't stuck in a chain!.
Will celebrate this weekend with a salmon & smoked trout fillets bonanza!!.

Not today but last Sunday. After seeing my Uncle at his nursing home in Southchurch - I noticed this as I stumbled on the way to Mawson`s Bar - pity I already had eaten

Applied for a new passport on Tuesday evening last week after my old one expired 4 years ago. Sent my old passport by 2nd class recorded.

Monday received a message to say they had received my old passport.

Tuesday morning received a further message to say new passport approved.

Tuesday evening a message confirming the new passport was being printed

Wednesday morning a message to start it was being sent out and I've just received confirmation from Royal Mail that it will be delivered today.

Credit where credit is due that's some turnaround especially when you always seem yo read about horror stories of weeks delays at the passport office.

Edit: Now within my hands is my new passport.

TBF it wasn't a great game 0-0.Perhaps a bit like our last home game to Rochdale.Nothing to write home about .It was good to be there though (in both cases).

Just managed to get front & back grass cut in the gap between it drying off a bit from the early morning lot & the lunchtime drizzle starting.

Admittedly I did get soaked in the final couple of minutes but I’d be damned if I was gonna leave the last strip uncut!

On the Liv St line this mornjng I met a lovely older lady (Julie) intending to take the Elizabeth Line Reading way to visit her elderly sister.

I overheard her saying on the phone that she hadn’t been on this line before and was a bit unsure where to go, as I was enroute to Paddington I offered to lend a hand.

She was unsure at first as her daughter had advised against speaking with strangers.
However, we got chatting, turns out her late husband was a long standing Shrimpers season ticket holder in the East Stand.

Julie told me a lovely story of how her hubby got in touch with Ted Hankeys widow years ago and was kindly donated a pair of Teds boots & a club blazer which she hopes will end up in the club museum once the ground improvements get underway & are completed.

Anyway she took me up on my offer & is now safely on her way to see her sister.

I’m glad we had the opportunity to meet as we live in weird times where such a gesture can often be construed as suspicious & unwelcome. Kind of made my day.
