Probate on the house we are hoping to buy has come through finally, so we can move forward. Waiting for report, and contracts then hopefully we can complete. Our mortgage offer expires 31st of March is the only issue, and Halifax can't extend the offer. Not even for one day so our rate will go up a lot if it isn't done by the 31st. There is one house in the chain -Just us who is buying no one else selling or buying. It is going to be a stressful couple of weeks!

Watched Chelmsford Chieftains beat Streatham Redhawks 7 - 2 at The Riverside.

Not an uncommon score in ice hockey but Streatham have already won the league and have been the strongest team in the division for a while.

Some of the Streatham fans we spoke to said they can't remember ever taking a beating like that.

Petr Cech spent the entire game on the bench watching Chelmsfords 18 year old goalie play a blinder but was still a perfect gentleman with the fans and opposition team.

Great news - fingers crossed for you. We've just had two house sales go on the market, sell and complete in less than 6 weeks, so there's definitely hope there for you as long as everyone else has done what they need to.

As a resident it seems massively overpriced for an are so lacking in charm.

As long as you have good solicitors/conveyancers on both sides, it shouldn't be a problem.

Down about 5% on average. There's still plenty of interest for the right thing though - as you may be aware, we listed a house on Kents Hill Road that looks quite derelict. It's a full refurbishment job, and we've had 30 odd viewings and 14 offers out of them - some quite ridiculously derisory, but it's got pretty close to asking price.

Absolutely, it is sooooo stressful. We started the moving process in Jan last year. October sold our house then moved in with parents whilst we waited for 2 probates to be done on this house. Our current mortgage offer is I think 3.80 or something but will go up to 4.8-5% if we don't complete by 31st March. Such fun!

Council Tax bill dropped through the letter box this morning. Pleasantly surprised that the increase was only £6.33 per month.

My mum and dad have been buying/selling for 10 years and they've just had their quickest move ever in a similar time frame (goes ahead next week) which they are over the moon with as are sometimes sat twiddling their thumbs for months waiting for the next one.

Don't accept the virgin increase. I had an email notifying a over 20% increase. Contacted them on WhatsApp and over the course of a day, after asking to cancel the contract, and then turning down every offer of a new contract at various prices for different packages, they agreed to increase my discount to effectively remove the price increase and with no new contract. Will just have to do it all again when I'm out of contract at the end of the year.
