Question What is making you happy today?

Scored some tickets earlier for Dylan's Rough and Rowdy Ways tour here in late June.Given that he's 82 (in May IIRC) almost certainly my last chance to se him again live.
Congratulations on scoring tickets to see Bob Dylan on his Rough and Rowdy Ways tour! That's definitely an exciting opportunity, especially considering his age and the fact that it may be your last chance to see him live.

Bob Dylan has had a long and storied career, and his music has had a profound impact on generations of fans and musicians. It's always special to see a legendary artist perform live, and I'm sure the concert will be a memorable experience.

I hope you have a great time at the concert and enjoy hearing some of Dylan's classic songs as well as his new material. It's always a privilege to see a true master of the craft perform, and I'm sure this will be no exception.

I last saw him 5 years ago at the same venue- the Liceo Opera House in Barna.-and apart from some quibles about the price of tickets ,his set as you say was a combination of old & new stuff.Remember seeing him for th first time at Blackbushe in 1978 along with Grumpy Blue and our respective partners when it was hard to work out what he was actually playing from the opening few bars since he was doing reggae versions of all his back catalogue,

All Specs opticians Progress Road. Took an old pair of glasses in to check out the price to put in my new prescription. £55 for single vision with anti scratch coating etc. Picking them up in an hour so will see what they are like.

Our C/T is up £110/yr, BT broadband goes up by 14.4pct and the mobiles go up 14.4pct on VF and 17.4pct on Virgin. Can’t wait to see Anglian Water and E+S Water‘s new charges 😕
If with Virgin call them, I did and got same package £ 12.00 lower I kid you not, tell them you cannot afford it, hard luck story blah blah and they will discount
Mine went from £ 81.00 XL package, Sky sports, Evening/week end calls , internet speed the same to £ 68.50

Nice. Mine sounds very similar to yours and I'm currently paying 79 quid.

Our U-18's won a cup final 1-0 at Aveley's ground. The winner was very similar to Mullins one v us recently, my boy heading the keeper's arms and he directed the ball to his own net. I moaned like hell at Wrexham's goal, not one complaint from me yesterday mind! (Though my head still hurts from the celebrations).

Found some M&S chilli coated peanuts lurking at the back of our kitchen cupboard. Best before 22/04/2022. Opened them and so far so good. Will now doubt find out very quickly if it was the wrong move.

Not today but yesterday. Went to the Ideal Home Exhibition. Not so much to see the show (cost of living crisis you're having a joke) but to see Olympia which I'd never been to. I love Victorian architecture and it didn't disappoint. What to do next. Wife gets phone out. Leighton House the home of artist and head of the Royal Academy in late Victorian times was round the corner. Wow just wow. The highlight is an Islamic room with tiles, shutters you name it's got it. That corner of Holland Park Road and Melbury Road was an artist colony of very successful artists and William Burges the neo Gothic architect. So we had a wander round the corner into Melbury Road. Passed Robbie Williams house, (owned by artist Luke Fildes and film director Michael Winner) passed Tower House Burges's house designed by himself now owned by Jimmy Page and a few others, can't remember all the Blue plaques. One was Michael Powell the film director. Amazing. Got my fill of Victorian architecture. Needless to say some had been demolished and rather weak buildings built but most have been saved.
RBKC do a walking tour. Think next time we might sign up for it.

It's very difficult.

As it happens I'm a contractor and this is only a 2 month contract, with less than 1 month to go. The piece of work has mushroomed to something far bigger and I might be needed until October. However, I have real reservations around extending because of him, but also because I might (only might) have another contract lined up that is 10% more and means I never have to talk to him again.
Looks like that new contract is a go. I am now trying to negotiate leaving this contract a week early!

I have realised that I can't hack travelling to London anymore even for two days a week.

I am looking for something 100% remote with maybe the odd bit of travel.
This new one is 100% remote, which is really good for me. However, that does make it difficult for me to justify putting my next car (100% electric) through my business!

I'm the same. I do 1-2 days and the days I have to go in are so painful. Hard to believe it used to be 5 days a week, but it was somehow easier when I just accepted it was what it had to be.

There is something about sitting next to someone watching Love Island on their phone that makes you contemplate the futility of a commute.

For this contract (with Virgin Atlantic) I have been down to Gatwick once and to Heathrow once. The rest of the time has been at home.

My previous commute was 1-2 days a week to Marlow. From where I live I had the choice of a 2 hour train journey or 45 minutes in the car. That said, there was one occasion (Barnet away earlier this season) where it took me two and a half hours to get home. I still made the match though.
