Question What is making you happy today?

Plasterer in to do the kitchen, and because the kitchen fitter did half a job ripping out the old one, I'm giving him a hand. I should be ****ed off but I'm quite enjoying it.

Giving him a hand!? Is that instead of payment? :winking:

Left over roasties, parsnips and cabbage yesterday = some right good bubble and squeak today! Lovely stuff!

Winning the last TBAA beach fishing match and winning the series in the process, helped with 3 victories in my last 3 matches.

I was Jaspa junior angler of the year in 1987. There is probably a blue plaque on the pier somewhere.

Getting the Lemonhead's album 'Lovey' in the office secret santa. Some random colleague clearly knows me well, perhaps too well.....

After all this doom and gloom in the media of late, here's a heart warming story.

Agreed, with all the horrific actions by people being broadcast around the world at the moment, it's nice to see the good people do for one another as well, so here's another heart warming story taken from my works intranet site.

"I dealt with a Financial hardship case a couple of months ago. It had really gone beyond that, the customer had lost his job as a result of illness, had no access to benefits as he had been waiting for an appointment for 3 weeks, his mobile was inactive as the bill hadn't been paid so he couldnt contact them to chase it up....and so it went on.....I got all of the charges refunded back on to his account, spoke to a really nice man at the FHD but ultimately all of the refunds only put his account back in order and and he didnt have access to any funds. One of the questions that the FHD asked was the last time the customer had eaten which was 3 days before I saw him and it was a tin of rice. Anyway, there was nothing that could be done to provide any funds for the customer to use. It was dreadful seeing someone who through no fault of his own had got in to a really bad way so I asked the FHD person if there was anything in the rule books to stop me taking the customer out and doing some shopping for him. He said that there wasnt and that was the nicest thing he had heard. So I got my coat and purse, took the customer to the supermarket and filled a trolley up with food for him. The customer didnt know what to say and I just said that when he gets himself back on his feet and if someone he knows needed some help, I know that he would do the same. I slept well that night!!!!"

Lovely pie and cheese stall in Southend High Street today amongst loads of other Christmassy ones, just eaten a beautiful hand raised pork pie and pickles for my din-dins! Yum, yum!

Nailed a new job last night and I don't think I've felt so relieved since seeing Richard Cadette score the second goal at Stockport to get us promotion in '87.

I don't think anything has made me more homesick than that. That sounds fan-****ing-tastic.

Sorry Rusty, me old chum....it really was awesome though, and if you want to torture yourself further, have a look at their website! http://www.leighsfinecheeses.co.uk/

Well done Rob!
