Question What is making you happy today?

The collared doves nesting at the back of my neighbour's satellite dish are now proud parents of a baby collared dove. Ah!!

The Leigh Brewing Company supplied two kegs of beer with flash chiller last week for an event where I work

Both were only half consumed and are right next to where I hot desk. They don't seem too bothered about taking it back so after work a few of us enjoyed a few gratis beers. Very nice too. Loads left as well...

I had their Six Little Ships the other day and was very impressed.

It was so good that I stayed with it and didn't switch to Crouch Vale's Brewer's Gold, which is praise indeed.

I did debate on putting this in hacking but I’ll look on the bright side.

Got our date for completion, it’s not as early as I wanted but hey ho. At least we are nearly at the end!

Mine was quick in the end. But only because the solicitors rushed it through. Started process January with mortgage app, 7 weeks from offer to completion. (Several forms were filled out wrong during process!).

Holiday booked! All travel and apartment (just me!) less than £400 (Croatia).

Hmm, MK Jnr wants to go to Southern France (she's a Francophile like her dad at a tender age) but at that price we maybe going east. I imagine that's out of school holidays?

First Week in June. Have a look at Argeles Sur Mer, about as far west as you can go on the Med' before reaching Spain.

Have done mate, it's not cheap. A few years ago we were booked to go to Collioure but then my wife had a thing with her leg which meant we had to cancel. :Frustrated:

thats not true. Cerbere is nearer. Argeles is OK, Banyuls is better. Canet and St Cyprien are cheaper and still good. If you go last week of July, French are still at school.

Collioure's my fav place by far. And you can get cheap flight to Montpelier, get train down, and get an AirBnB.

Plan is to get Eurostar to Paris, day at Disneyland, then train from Paris - Perpingnan. Not booked anything yet.

Paris to Perpignan is an excellent journey. Normally a double decker. Need to book it early - check out sncf for prices etc as some times are massively cheaper. we got a night train last year, left Paris at 930pm and arrived in Collioure at 7am in the morning, which was cheap but for me at least, uncomfortable. loads of places in Perpignan for the night, and you can get the Euro bus (1€ per journey) to anywhere along the coast...

Cheers. I get paid next Friday so that's when things will start getting booked!

Cerbere is closer to Spain as you say but I did say "about". Collioure is great but, for me, Argeles has the better beach. I don't remember going to Banyul but I must have done. It was a few years ago...
