A few weeks ago there was a collision in Royal Artillery Way when a car hit 2 (of a trio) of council ride on mowers. Two mower workers were seriously injured, one was in a London hospital with multiple fractures, including pelvis, and the other also has multiple fractures but not as serious. I am sure the council has more mowers, but the grass cutting services must be stretched past it's capacity.
IIRC the car driver has been charged with drink/drugs driving; and the collision happened early morning so it does fit in with your observations on driving standards RHB.
Thanks Massimo, that will teach me to read the Echo more. I hope they are recovering, the mowers are insured and the culprit gets banged up.

You just have to seriously have your wits about you whenever getting behind the wheel nowadays & definitely have a dashcam. Expect the unexpected I was always taught.

Some of the things I witness going on, & no doubt you guys do too, honestly beggars belief.

There are people out there on the roads who imo should not (& may not be) in possession of a driving licence.

Those of you who drive for a living have my sympathy.
I sometimes wonder if some people got their driving license from a Christmas cracker.

The height of the grass at the Fairglen Interchange is pretty dangerous - it's above the height of the car side window
Now I don't understand this at all. I'm 41 and I often daydream about quitting my financial services job to cut grass. I don't know what it is. Perhaps the smell.of freshly cut grass, the satisfaction at looking back and realise you have tamed a bit if nature or the ability to one day own a sit on lawnmower.

I know the councils are strapped for cash but if someone gave me the opportunity to cut grass all day on a sit on lawnmower I'd probably bite their hands off for the gig. If I was retired I'd probably do it for free.

Are you Forrest Gump?

Snotty people in work this week (heavy cold snotty). Thought I’d avoided it. Yesterday one confirmed Covid and sure enough I started going downhill.

After a really awful night I tested this morning and yep I’ve got it and worse than the other time I had it.

In HK of all places, masks in abundance even now, what possesses these idiots to come in? Everyone in the company I work for has the ability to WFH. This one has really knocked me for six and also just in time for the weekend.

On the plus side I have a job! I was within a week or two of selling up and coming home after 12-1/2 years. Flights were booked, shipping was booked, pets were booked. Only one or two on here knew. I was made redundant last year but after 16 years I got a hefty pay off and most of it tax free.

I’m working as a consultant at the HK Stock Exchange.

Leigh on Sea. On a date night with my wife. The Food Shack rang up and asked if we could get there earlier as they had a booking that cancelled and was hoping that we could arrive earlier so they can close early.

Finished dinner and thought we'd go on a little pub crawl. Mayflower was ringing last orders as we came in the door at 7.

In Ye Olde Smack currently hoping the Peterboat and The Crooked Billet stay open past 20:30

Cost me £1.50 to park for 1 hour in Bellingham Lane car park, Rayleigh. It actually should have cost £1.20 but "no change given".

Rochford District Council have hiked their car park charges to 70 pence for 30 minutes from 50p.

Easy money as these sites require little or no maintenance and none are ever upgraded or improved. No wonder the High Street is dying.
