Waiting for news that my long awaited dream job in HK has the green light. It has been talked about for 3 years. I spent 2 months out there at the end of 09. I spend much of my working week on calls with Asia on top of my existing responsibilities. It has been top of the agenda for the last 3 weeks and there was supposed to have been a call between the big honchos in Tokyo, HK, London and NY on this yesterday but NY wanted it at a time when Asia were in bed. These are bright people that just don't get time zone difference as I found out when I was in Asia in 09.

The role is Head of Product for my business line in Asia Pacific ex Japan. 15% tax and more importantly out of the hellhole this country has become. I know money isn't everything and I'd be on a local rather than ex-pat package. Even witha UK property to maintain and exhorbitant HK rental rates I would be much better off.

On the downside Mrs Orm and the kids would probably stay here for 2-3 years for schooling, elderly mother etc.
