On holiday in Crete, dozed off in the sun and now have massive blisters on legs and feet. My own stupid fault - now in pain, on a course of antibiotics so no alcohol until two days before we fly home. Grrrr.

Natural Aloe Vera in the affective areas.

You may all be right, I don't know. His friends don't have mortgages but either rent or are still at home, although are similar in age to him. I believe some are quite envious of the fact that he has his own house!

The problem now is that, because some people have suggested mental illness, she's saying, well, what if he is ill - as if she feels she has to be responsible for him! Hasn't helped that her aunt has said he's saying the same stuff as her best friend did before she threw herself off a bridge over the A12 a few years back.

From reading everything you say there’s nothing about him having any consideration for your daughter just a self, self, self attitude. Maybe it needs a third party who he’ll actually listen to to spell it out that your daughter needs to move on for her own good. As for her aunties comment, imo that was very irresponsible and she could have given more supportive advice.

Apparently he's scared of me so I don't think I should! The aunt and her fella are both talking to him, and hopefully he may see sense at some point.

Hmm, well in which case I’d say you are the ideal candidate....?
Does your daughter still envisage a life with him, what outcome does she want - to start anew or continue drifting along unhappily as now?

That's what I can't get her to come out with - it's almost as if she doesn't want to admit that she can't see a future, or that she's "failed" in some way.

BA pilots strike. No flight home from hols on 27th Sept and no flights on 26th or 28th either. Phone lines useless. No attempt to book people onto alternative flights / partner airline flights and only offering BA flights on alternative dates or a full refund. Fuming!

Ggrrr, the Amazon rain forest fires. Absolutely devastating. The Amazon is nicknamed the lungs of the Earth. 41,000 fires there this year. Most started by farmers and ranchers. The President's policies and rewards encouraged people to start the fires. Now it's got out of hand he's made a token gesture to fight the fires. Absolute disgrace.

Sit them both down together and tell them enough is enough. Patently obvious he’s no good for her and if he can’t or won’t acknowledge that then she has to walk away and start afresh as he sure as hell won’t change his ways. If he does recognise it then he should also see he’s a waste of space and she deserves much better than what he has to offer......and she starts afresh. Sure she will come out of it a stronger person by making the break ideally sooner the better.

The human race. The only species that actively tries to extinct itself and we most probably will.

Sitting in the garden enjoying the glorious sunshine and relaxing when someone decides to have a bonfire and smoke the whole street out.

The rules for bonfires are below. I had to find out because a neighbour was doing it a lot of Sundays in the summer. I posted it through the neighbours door, Lol.

  • Never burn household rubbish or rubber tyres, or use oil to light the fire.
  • Avoid lighting a bonfire on damp days (smoke is more likely to hang in the air).
  • Be careful of wind direction - make sure smoke isn’t blowing over other people’s property.
  • Avoid having a bonfire on a weekend or bank holiday when people want to enjoy their gardens.
  • Never leave a fire unattended or leave it to smoulder - douse it with water if necessary.
  • Only burn dry wood (wet wood gives off more smoke)
