I go into hospital on Friday for elbow surgery, meaning my right arm will be out of action for some time. In a way I'm looking forward to three weeks out of the office (I'm not allowed to bend my fingers for three weeks which pretty much rules out using a keyboard), but I'm not looking forward to:

  • Not earning for three weeks.
  • Not being able to do anything for three weeks.
  • Having my wife have to do everything for me (and I mean everything, even down to cutting my food up for me.)
  • More than likely missing out on taking the kids to see Matilda on Sunday. (We booked the tickets ages ago and my wife will probably take them with a friend.)

Even after that three weeks it'll be at least 3 months before I can play tennis again.

Severe case of tennis elbow, man up chap.

Having to get to the local swimming pool at 6am to get a ticket for swimming lessons, only to be met with 20 or so people in front of me.

Then having to return at 8am to wait for my number to be called.....but got her in. So a bit of both.

What the **** sort of crazy arsed system is that?!

Campaign for more classes then!

That's mental, we have so much option for swimming clubs around here, I would have thought a town like MK should have some decent amenities?

There are lots of swimming clubs in the area but none have a bar or somewhere to grab a burger.

My mum's just come out of plaster on her right arm having fractured her wrist in two places - she learned to adapt, I'm sure you will too! Best of luck!

I've actually spent the last few weeks practising using my left hand for most things. Hopefully it won't be as bad as I expect.
