'Staff All' email has gone out from the office manager giving us two options for a Christmas party venue (long way away, but I can understand why she's doing it, there are a lot of people in this office). Idea being we email her back with a vote for option A or option B

Anyhow - hats off to the wallies who have used 'reply all' to let their office manager know their preferences.

I say no email for an entire month for these people. Fair enough?

Only a month?

My neighbours, nice of them to change fence panels and put up new concrete posts (their boundary and they didn't need changing from my view) but my garden is now a **** hole due to them ripping plants up on our side.

Went over my ankle earlier today. It's swollen like a balloon. At least the pain is subsiding, but putting weight on it is not easy. I would post a photo, but trust, it's not a pretty sight.

Now worried about my fitness levels. I don't think I'm going to be able to run on Monday. I've already cancelled my tennis lesson for tomorrow morning.

My wife has popped to work to get the laser machine, tape and crutches!

There's nothing worse than going over on the ankle. Last time I did it I truly thought I had broke it. Surpressing the scream is the hardest part wouldn't you agree?

Completely. I don't know what it is about ankles but they really hurt. I'm 100% sure nothing is broken though...

Hot tip. Skip the crutches. Keep moving it. First time i did mine Basildon hospital have me crutches and told me to rest it. Took ages to get better. Next time I did it advice from Southend hospital, you don't need crutches. Walk as normally as possible and whilst sitting down keep bending it back and forth. Full recovery was a lot quicker.

My wife's a physio with a masters in sports injuries. I'm happy to do what she says. As it happens she's brought them home but doesn't think I need them at the moment.

Cleverly she's put a flight sock on it for night time. Flight socks are for stopping DVTs and are really tight round the ankle which will help keeping the swelling down.

Mine swelled up so big you could have put a basket under it. Champers and Hampers at 2000ft, if you get my drift. I'll remember the flight sock tip.

Oh and something else - met a designer for a job, liked her, agreed in principle. she sent contract which was awful - copied and pasted from american site - so I went back, asked her to remove/amend and nothing, she doesnt want the job. :omg:

First a Budgens and now a Spar are opening in South Benfleet.

Why can't we get a Waitrose or an M&S?

Supermarkets tend to check the quality of the shoppers in an area and then the appropriate ones open to suit the shoppers. Seems like M&S and Waitrose decided to swerve for some reason I can't fathom Cyril. I'm off to Waitrose later this morning for our weekly shop, anything you need there?

The new look Spar on Leigh Road (what was the Costcutter) is actually OK. Nice baked goods.
I remember when I went to Austria about 15 years ago they had Spars everywhere.

Remember that this location is only a few hundred yards away from Benfleet Road which is has the largest, and classiest houses in the region. Some of these people have four or five gangster style cars on their driveway.

Are you telling me that the people who live in these urban palaces can't afford to shop at Waitrose or M&S. I imagine many of them would probably pay cash as well for extra convenience...
