It's my last day at my current employer. 8 amazing years and really sad to leave. Also really really hungover from my leaving do!

A Zinger Stinger.......Mrs RHB has a soft spot for KFC and very occasionally we stop off for something from them at lunchtime. I tried a Zinger Stinger, which was new, not knowing just how much chilli sauce in contained. Chilli and my stomach are not a compatible match, and hot though it was on the way down, that was nothing compared with the departure journey. Never again.

About to start on a document...that needs to be completed before I go home for the weekend. And before anyone asks, it wasn't my idea to wait until now to start...

Last week in the pub,

One of my "friends" had this brilliant idea which was rubbing Scotch Bonnet round my glass and a few other poor mites.

Boy that was damn hot.

Last taxi run of the night last night. Pick up 2 couples from the Hamlet pub with a drop off in Leigh and then onto Wickford. All was going well as the first couple got out the car and then it all went pear shape. The second couple started arguing about the blokes behaviour in the pub. To make matters worst the fog was a right pea souper and getting worst. The woman smacked the bloke twice and then he tried to strangle her and thew her on the floor of my taxi. At this stage I'm having to drive at 30mph on a 70mph road. Then I miss the correct turn off and switch the meter off as its a big detour.
i finally the get the couple to their destination, she is crying her make up all over the place and has bruises showing around her neck, the bloke starts whinging about the price, not realising that he has saved over a £10 on the fare.

Er shouldn't you have called the police?

Many years ago I use to do karate, and one day I was walking to a lesson wearing my karate suit with a coat over the top. On the way to karate two blokes were arguing with a woman joining in the arguing. One of the blokes decided to punch the woman to the ground (a punch not a slap). The other bloke also got a good hiding. Seeing the woman getting punched I intervened and basically told the bloke to 'do one'. The woman got up and defended her attacker as they were a couple.

Second situation. Driving my taxi one night I witnessed a bloke grab a girl by the hair and push the back of the girls head against a wall a couple of times. I stop the taxi to help the girl and again the girl defended the blokes action. Reported the issue to the office and was told never to intervene as I can't get physically involved.

The police are not interested in my opinion, plus the couple got out on a corner of a road so I have no address of the couple.

Could I have stopped the car? As above, not a lot I can say apart from behave or get out and walk, and then what? They end up walking home in thick fog. Next thing you know it's in the paper, the Hackney Carriage are on your back and you will never win that argument.

A lot of taxis up here have inside video cameras. That'd help in situations of domestic violence.
I do need to get one for everybody's safety. Had one in my last taxi but apparently it has to be a specific camera so it can only be opened by the police. At the moment I have a roof, holiday and wedding to sort out (in that order), so money is tight at the moment.

******** cyclists who think the rules of the road do not apply to them. Two blokes on bikes this morning cycling along the A13, sailed straight through the red traffic lights at West Leigh school, then again, the next set at Hadleigh Road. Pulled alongside and reminded them that the red lights apply to them just the same as cars!

Plenty of perfectly decent cyclists out there but morons like this give them a bad name.

And what did they say when you told them .

I hope they both said thank you nicely.

Don't know, I'd driven on by then. Don't give a monkey's, the road is there to be used by everyone according to the Highway Code. Muppets that think it doesn't apply are what cause half the problems these days.
