For the anoraks amongst you all, (or Barbour for Mad Cyril) there are two sorts of season:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-29014886

The BBC and Met Office asked the public to name storms in the UK recently. The first was Abigail.

Well, I must have missed that! Thanks for the info, now I know that we are obviously on a parallel with the Caribbean!

Just found the new list, the next one is going to be Clodagh - there must be an awful lot of Clodagh Rogers fans out there, lol! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-34578310

Also getting a bit miffed this morning because the old people's home 3 doors away is having work done on the roof. The people working must have the squeakiest winch in the world winching stuff up and down from the roof - awful noise which puts your teeth on edge!

The media tugging themselves into a frenzy while pumping 'narrative' and 'emotion' into tonight's friendly.

The more I look at the new C2C timetable the worse it looks for those going to Benfleet and beyond at peak times, haven't looked at other times. Make the ****ers who go from West Ham to Barking get the underground. Or only serve one, not both stations on each train.

I haven't braved looking at the new timetable but I think its probably going to annoy me!

UPDATE: what a F***ing P*ss take!! as if I'm not out the house long enough as it is now adding about another half hour-40 mins to my day! (Y)

The knowledge that my gearbox won't be ready till Saturday at the earliest and with this weather taxis will be in demand especially during the morning rush hour and the school run. I also dare say there will be a few long distance trips due to damage on trainlines and maybe a few airport runs due to cancelled flights.

a) New bloke started on Wednesday. Doesn't utter a ****ing word - it's like he's made out of wood. Great choice boss

b) Talking of my boss, she's on a four day programming course next week - something I wanted to do since I joined but was told that the funds weren't available.

The Internet has everything you need to learn any programming.

Then it comes down to practice.

I learned Scala on the train and now work as a contractor.

True. Thing is, we're supposed to create Personal Development Plans every year. I'd have some interest in programming, as I can do a bit (older languages) but I've sod all interest in Business Rules or ***** like that.

The blood donation people giving me wrong information, meaning I had a fruitless walk to the donation centre and then back again. Still, despite the cold it's a nice clear day.

Yes mate, even their f-up hasn't put me off. Think I'm up to No.5

Well done. 27 for me a few weeks ago. I had to miss a few sessions because I had whooping cough, and then couldn't find a session that was convenient.

All sorted now though, and booked in again for March.
