Hope you get a decent job and earn enough money to get a new computer, at least you are trying.

Can you use your local library computers in the mean time ?

Got a Kindle Fire which can do the job but it's a bit fiddly. Cheers - although that Maplin rejection isn't helping.

Today's earworm is 'Deck the Halls'. I mean, how the ****? Why the ****?

If it's any consolation, the local BHF I volunteer at has the cards out already.

A13 shut east bound people, lorry on it's side and road closed at Ferry Lane. Use the A2 if you want to get home before tomorrow.

It's performance review objective setting and all that corporate ******** time. Can't I just do my job without having to set objectives and develop a "Personal Development Plan".

I don't want to develop nor do I want to meet objectives and jump through hoops for the miserly payrise & "bonus" that it brings.

****ing roll on retirement.

Go contracting. Apart from the money, that is the main benefit.

Wish I could mate, not sure I've got the skills. Sometimes I think I should go back on the tools, things were simpler.

I have been contracting for two years and wish I had made the jump years ago.

I work about ten hours a day which isn't too bad for banking, rarely work late and avoid the dreaded performance review.

The dividend tax is going to hit me but not enough to make me go back to being a permie.

I justify the tax efficiency side of contracting as compensation for the increased risk I have taken on......

I wish I could mate. Sadly bills to pay, mouths to feed. Cant risk that.

So I ring up MK Hopsital to complain that they've lost my test results and no mofo seems to want to know and guess what....the Patient and Liaison Service it's closed due to staff shortages. It's like something from a Franz Kafka story. :nope:
