What have you watched on TV?

Saw the first part of Great Expectations last night and loved it. Ray Winstone is a very convincing and menacing Magwich, and Gillian Anderson as Miss Havisham was excellent. Parts 2 & 3 over the next two nights.

Caught up with the Christmas Poirot whilst ironing this morning, loved it. So hope David Suchet gets to fulfil his ambition and play Poirot in each of his cases....not many left now.

Agreed H. Great Expectations is my favourite Dickens novel so I had high hopes for this and wasn't disappointed.

Anyone else see the Ad of the Year programme last night? Can't believe Cravendale's "Cats with thumbs" ad won!!! Horrible, horrible advert and not a patch on this piece of brilliance, which came 3rd......

I would dearly love to show Jack Whitehall around the car park of the Hoy and Helmet.

A **** of epic proportions.
I always thought that until I saw him in Freshmeat, the C4 University Sit-com. He was really good in it, and I've seen him in a new light.

I have to admit, that advert is classic...

George of the Jungle on 1 now, and there's something else on later I plan to watch but it's just nipped out the back door of my brain and I can't check it without losing my live feed of 1, so... yeah.

Typically silly stuff from Top Gear last night - poor Hammond and his Mini!

Just watched yet another shock at the darts with Kim Huybrechts smashing Paul Nicholson 4-1 to move into the quarter finals .. gutted as i really like Nicho but at least it means we get to see more of the Belgians girlfriend who is absolutely stunning

Huybrechts girlfriend.jpg :slurp:

I think its heading towards an Anderson v Wade final but there's been so many surprising results up to now i wouldn't even put a pound on it

Sorry Kay but that advert was terrible all that build up just for that!!!

Bluesmanager - that poor mini, when he got that it was mint and would look brilliant in any car collecters garage. I was gutted to see it like that :(. Overall though I thought that was a very poor Top Gear special and think they need a new lease of life. It's same **** different episode and becoming more and more obvious that it's all staged.

IMO it went down hill when Ben Collins outed himself as the stig. I probably think BBC's budget not being amazing helps but still something is going wrong somewhere.

To be fair, the last Christmas special was actually related to the season and had some proper laugh out loud bits in it. The only time I laughed last night wwas when they were on the train. The rest of it was just the usual "Jeremy being a ****, May being a pompous git and Hammond being a swearing midget" antics. A shame, because I've actually been to India and it's a lot better than they made it look.
