What have you watched on TV?

Watched the last episode of Silk last night, the series was a bit of a slow starter, but picked up towards the end. Deserves another go.....

Replacing The Killing on the BBC4 foreign language crime series slot on Saturday's is the French series Spiral, subtitled The Butcher of La Vallette. This is season 3, and having seen the first two series I'd recommend it. The first two episodes of 12 were shown last night I'm sure they'll be repeated at some point during the week.

Louis Theroux last night, interviewing those Westboro' Baptist types.

Hate Jews? Hate Muslims? Hey lets go and live in Jerusalem...:stunned:

Just finished 'Boardwalk Empire'. Very good indeed, but falling just short of excellent. Season Two looks to be lined up very nicely though.

Also watching 'Spartacus: Gods of the Arena'. Something of a guilty pleasure because it is utter toss really, but her off of Xena Warrior Princess gets her boobs out a lot and there is plenty of fighting. Possibly the most homoerotic thing this side of Top Gun, but never mind.

Oh and 'Twenty Twelve' as well, the mockumentary about preparation for the Olympic Games. Very good indeed and all still available on the iPlayer.

I do love a bit of Louis Theroux, but thought this was probably his weakest work in a while. It was almost as if he fully expected them to string themselves up, like they did the last time, but they obviously had their guards up and it was all much of the same. He should've made more of the two girls who left the church and the human impact of the protests. Perhaps an hour was too short, but this was nowhere near as good as his more recent work with the Ultra Zionists in and around Jerusalem.

I've really enjoyed Boardwalk Empire, as for Spartacus, Jupiter's ****!! :stunned: As you say utter toss, but also has Jaime Murray in it who managed a flash of her Brazilian last week.

Watched Temple Gradin on Sky Atlantic, TV movie starring Clare Daines. Temple was (is?) an autistic woman who overcame many barriers to become the expert on how to kill moo cows humanely.

The Booth at the End.

Bloke sits in a diner, people want stuff, he tells them to do quite horrible things to get it. Absolutely brilliant, one show in and I'm hooked. It's on FX...watch it!

Yeah I've heard Twenty Twelve is good, will watch it this week.
Just finished watching The Killing, did all 20 episodes in a week! Thought it was really good, but sagged a little in the middle and was so relentlessly bleak it lacked the humour in shows like The Wire. Apparently the American remake is decent so might watch that too.

Pretty excited for Game of Thrones, which starts tonight on Sky Atlantic. Been getting rave reviews in the US.

Yep, got a series link set up for that one. With Boardwalk Empire finished, I need another quality drama and Spartacus, no matter how many jubblies it shows, can't ever claim to be quality drama.

There seems to be an increased breast count in a lot of dramas recently. This can only be a good thing.

For more bootastic (and indeed fantastic) telly, the adult Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones on the brilliant Sky Atlantic. Violence, more boobs than a dog-eared copy of Razzle, political intrigue, incest, a randy dwarf...and a huge British cast. Superb!

Been watching Wonders of the Solar System on dvd (missed that series on tv), excellent stuff, find the fact we're all so insignificant reassuring. Mrs DS & I have started betting on how many times Prof Cox will say Billions per episode.

Also seen Village of the Dolls (More4) really interesting doc about a guy beaten to a pulp and as his recovered has built a WWII village in his back garden with action man type dolls. Aswell as Vacation, Vacation, Vacation & Superscrimpers.

The Da Vinci Detective on Channel 4, a very interesting documentary on the continued search for one of Leonardo's greatest paintings believed to be hidden in Florence.

The Battle of Anghiari.

"The Da Vinci Detective was a recent feature length documentary for Channel 4, commissioned as the channel’s response to the Da Vinci Code phenomenon"

"It looked at the work of forensic scientist Maurizio Seracini as he explored two mysteries surrounding lost masterpieces created by Leonardo Da Vinci. One reviewer called it a blockbuster, and it was designed to be big. The locations were on occasion epic, the camera keeps moving, and the art on display was uniformly stunning"

Watched the last two episiodes last night, not sure what to make of it, part of me thinks its crap but was quite enjoying it by the end of episode two.

Jury is out but will give it a chance...
