Question What are you reading?

Couple of books I've read in the last few months that I've hugely enjoyed are:

The Thought Gang - By Tibor Fischer
Cat's Cradle - By Kurt Vonnegut
The Man in The High Castle - By Philip K Dick

Memoirs, William Rees-Mogg. Fairly interesting stuff about journalism and upper middle class/Times stuff happening in the UK and World from the 1950s.

Saw his son on the Sunday Politics yesterday on a live link from Somerset.A right chip off the proverbial.Seemed very smug about being one of the hundred Tories to have signed that letter to Cameron.

Having fought through the enjoyable "Fall of Giants" by Ken Follett , I have taken a gamble on several authors who I have not read before with a view to reading their books in order. The first is Alex Gray (F) with "Never Somewhere Else" a Glaswegian serial scalper thriller. Compared to Mr Follett this is a mere pamphlet at 310 pages.

The second author whom I am starting from the beginning is Mark Billingham - "Sleepyhead" - have heard a lot about this guy so looking forward to this one.

Winter of the World - Ken Follit.

This book has saved me a fortune at the Amazon store. Its quite a big book and I normally fall asleep after 5 or 6 pages so its lasting forever.

Kill for Me - Karen Rose - I ws somewhat attracted to the strapline "Kiss the Girls snd make them Die " & that it was about 50p in the charity shop.

That Lance Armstrong. What a rascal.

In the pleasure groove.

Autobiography of Duran Duran bassist John Taylor.

Pretty good.

The Dirt by Motley Crue is next. Don't like the band but the book is supposed to be one of the best rock bios ever.

more than a interesting read this - hope you enjoy it.

I read Tyler Hamilton's "The Secret Race" last year and thought it was excellent. The inside view of what a **** Lance Armstrong is/was, irrespective of his drug taking. On that score, my feeling is that it was just the social norm in cycling at that time - he was just better at it than the others.

Reading Morrissey's autobiography at the moment by the way. Heavy going at times but written like a Smiths song - there's some great stuff in there amongst the flannel.....
