Question What are you reading?

Just finished Robopocalypse and thoroughly enjoyed it, set in the future where everything is a robot. They have SN uprising against the human race. Just seen spielberg is directing the film adaptation 8/10

Just finished Rosanne Cash's excellent autobiography, Composed. We'll be seeing her play live, on Thursday night, and I notice she'll be playing an acoustic set at the Union Chapel in Islington on Friday, which'll probally mean there'll be a TV special later in the year.

Just on last knockings of War and Peace. At times I have wondered why I was still reading it as it does seem to meander, but all in all it is worthy of it's acclaim. it will stick in my memory for a long time to come but there's no chance of picking it up again a second time.

Artctic Chill........OK but not the best Indridason that I've read.
Kate Atkinson....'Behind the Scenes at the Museum' .....I found this book quite annoying. Too many characters constant and confusing changes of epoch. Not really a sexist comment (although, perhaps it is!) .........is this more a woman's book????
J.M.Coetzee...Disgrace.....Recently started and quite enjoying it.

Just picked up the first 5 Hitchhicker's Guide books on the Kindle for **** all (£2.20). Never read them before (or at least, I don't remember reading them, and I have a very good memory for what i have and haven't read). Just finished the first one - it makes no sense, and I can't get Bilbo fecking Baggins out of my head, and I don't care 'cause it's absolutely bloody brilliant!

The book is excellent and the film's not bad either.

if you can, watch the TV version of the books before the film.

Just finished it, liked the style and the story.

Was too short though and could have been a bit more to it.

Enjoyable nonetheless

7/10

Finished I, Partidge which was alot of fun, now reading Jonathan Wilson's 'Brian Clough: Nobody Ever Says Thank You', it's a beast at 550 pages, I'm 65 pages in and totally hooked.

Capital.John Lanchester's ironic and comic take on present day, state-of-the nation- London. His fictional Pepys Road(supposed to be near Clapham Common)rather reminds me of Hope Close, in the People's Republic of Islington, where one of my brothers (not Shrimpero, the other one)used to live.Funnily enough, he's an Investment banker, as is one of the main characters, in this wonderful novel.
Hugely enjoyable and destined to become a modern classic. It will surely be made into a GB film or TV series too.

Just started this after your glowing review
