Wembley tickets

I've finally given up getting a ticket and feel absolutely gutted. My dad is 77 and wanted a big day out again after years of despair - but the logistics of getting there were already stacking out even before this utter debacle. Has just become impossible and so sad.

For years the premiership have been lambasted for their lack of care and support of lower league football. Their greed has been seen as the root of all problems. But have to be honest - when the people running the highest step of non-league football don't fight for the rights of the non-league clubs then it's no surprise that clubs are struggling. To think what the national league put our club and fans through even when we were trying to get rid of our previous chairman - points deductions, embargoes, bonds - and now this wembley farce? That's not to mention the ridiculous TV deal which withdrew any kind of general public watching the teams. Grass roots football needs to look closer at its own bodies and structure before blaming the greedy premiership for it's problems.

I'm praying my absence is a sign for a great win and we can get out of this god forsaken league and pity those clubs left who will be fighting for existence without any support.

And fair play to our club who have clearly been working overtime to try and help our fans - my goodness we have fantastic ownership now. They deserve success as does Kevin and the boys. Come on Southend - I will be cheering you on from Devon with everything I've got.
Great post.

Imagine if we won on Sunday and were successful in legal action against the NL. They’d basically be paying us to go back to the EFL which would be hilarious. All of this has made me even more determined to get out of this tinpot league though. It’s a good standard of football don’t get me wrong, but I want no affiliation with the absolute charlatans running it. I’m so angry and I don’t think it’ll subside for a while.

I’d rather have missed out on a ticket with the game being held at a sold out smaller venue than watching a half empty stadium being able to attend - that’s the gutting part.

This is absolutely spot on. So sorry to all the Shrimpers who won’t be there.

**** THE NATIONAL LEAGUE

What I dont get is fans will (if they have to) get the coach to Wembley if they get their tickets once they are on the coach - this part isnt the problem as fans will be arriving at Wembley over a number of hours before the game so there wont be overcrowding issues.

HOWEVER

After the game there is no incentive to get on the coach to head back on them so if we win fans will rightly want to stay and have a drink in the area and not rush back. Again this would release any strain with overcrowding at local stations anyway.

Some numpty (probablythe Oldham CEO or that useless c*** on the board from Dagenham) at the NL have no common sense whatsoever so think 100s of coaches is the best and safest option.
I'm only getting coach to game then making my way straight to Stansted afterwards. Not quite sure what best route is.

Probably ruined any future career moves by posting this on National League LinkedIn’s job advert for CEO but actually I don’t care. I’m spitting feathers in my morning Yorkshire Tea.

Perhaps the National League can hire a CEO that will NOT schedule a final when there are engineering works on the Tube. And NO excuses. TfL posted their engineering schedule well in advance of the published date for this year’s final. Loyal supporters cannot get tickets because of the allocation restrictions. Kids (and grown men) reduced to tears. You gambled that at least one big team wouldn’t make the final and lost. This had the opportunity to be your showcase. It will be a record attendance for a NL final but a stained one.

Doesn't look like these are selling that quickly..

Sales might pick up when it’s determined how the coach packages will work. I think there’s still a lot of confusion around that aspect.

I.e. do you have to get on the coach to receive a ticket, or will the ticket be emailed out separately on Thursday?

If it’s the latter, I can imagine plenty of fans accidentally “missing” the departure time and being forced to find their own way there. And similarly, after the game, Wembley is a big place, what’s to say you can’t find your coach in the sea of other coaches, and are forced to take a taxi home?

I guess Thursday will reveal more info.

Stating the obvious, but they’re completely inept.

No way this situation happens with the EFL or Prem bosses.

That being said, I’m not sure what they can do at this stage? They hold no power over Brent Council or TfL & they don’t have enough say in any real football circles (again, totally and utterly inept) to change what’s happening. They had their chance to do that months ago, but banked on a low attendance final at the pinnacle of English Stadiums, rather than lose face and settle for something smaller.

It’s thanks to the fans and some big media voices which we’ve even managed to get this far, as they’d have left it at 17,500 allocation.

I don’t know, but I would assume to get more tickets released now (without coach packages) Brent council need to give Wembley the go ahead to do so. And they won’t do that unless TfL can guarantee X amount of additional resources. Just my guess
Effectively we have got the original 17.5k plus 9k with very little movement other than a few of 9k with coach going to the ticket only. Due to TfL upping their provision a bit
Unfortunately when it comes to H&S men with a board and a knitted cardigan are unmovable. Basically the organisations involved have formed a circular firing squad. Let’s hope guns are loaded and safetys are off…

Well...I finally got the 4 tickets about 5 mins after the 8.30pm session. Initially it said 2 hours 34 mins waiting time. Then within 8 mins dropped down to 8 minutes. There is a time continuum at work?
We are booked on a coach from the Airport. Lifts to the Airport courtesy of Mrs gpd. 4 happy lads on their way to Wembley:Clap: Good seats actually great view of the whole ground.....programme bought earlier today....and relax. View from our seats. Just in case folks dont know....you can see your view here https://www.wembleystadium.com/plan-your-visit/stadium-guide/view-from-your-seat
I've even been able to transfer my car parking space (booked after the Rochdale game) to someone else (just by adding a different car). Easy.

I can get a coach plus ticket now. **** seat but whatever. Do we know if you can just get in without getting on the coach? It's quite a big factor as I am spending well over a grand on a flight and would arrive the morning of the 1st in Heathrow. Getting to Southend to get back to Wembley ain't happening.
I think you’ll be fine, the ticket will be emailed to you on or around Thursday

My confirmation said tickets being emailed out on Thursday.

Serious question, (as I’m not massively clued up on this sort of thing). Is there any potential that the club takes legal action against the NL (or whoever else is deemed to have responsibility) for losses as a result of this debacle, as well as lost revenue? Not only that, but the potential loss of repeat custom from casuals who might have attended Wembley and then gone to home games etc.

Impossible to quantify an exact figure, but can imagine it’s not insignificant. Would that even have legs? Or does the cost of even pursuing it make it too much of a risk?

After reading the club’s update I’m just so angry about what a complete **** up this is. Not only impacting the fans, but potentially significant financial implications to the club too.
The biggest win the club can achieve is getting out of this tin pot league run by the biggest group of incompetent d***h****
