That really makes no sense :)

Dont get me wrong, I think the bookies have over estimated Crawleys chance of a win, but if you are looking at who is officially favourite, its not us.

Exactly. Crawley definitely deserve to be favourites for their game and, ergo promotion, but they're no value at 8/13.

Although, mug punter that I am, I'll probably still back them as some form of insurance bet. Double for them and Torquay pays around 12/5 by the way.

The odds are against us. Recent form is in our favour.

Add to the mix that essentially, what happened on Saturday just gone is what we need to happen again this Saturday. Stuff the odds, look at the facts. Saturday just gone, Crawley and Torquay were BOTH 'more likely' to win their games than they are this Saturday coming. We were less likely to win our game Saturday just gone than we are this Saturday coming.

So, although the odds might be against us, they are less against us than they were 2 days ago, when it all came good.

Frankly our fate is in the lap of the Gods, it's out of our hands. That's not the case for Creepy or Torquay, so ALL the pressure is on them.

Bring it on.

Crawley won't win. Torquay won't win. We will win. We'll be promoted.

Not out of the question after the weekend. Could see draws for both.

Just takes one goal though. Then again only takes one goal to go our way too, Crewes 90th minute equaliser vs Torquay a nice example!

I'm actually quit pleased that of all three teams, the least pressure is on us.

We can only concentrate on winning our game, and see what happens.

I think we will go up one way or another, be it Saturday or at *******

Exactly, we arent favourites and the odds are against us although not massively like they were 2 games ago.

It is achievable now though and all we can do is slaughter Macclesfield and listen to the radios until 4:50pm.....

Who cares about odds. Basic facts are if we win and the other 2 do not we go up. If we do not lose and the other 2 do we go up. If 1 of the other 2 win we are in the play offs. No odds just simple facts.

We just need to concentrate on winning and forget about the other 2 until about 4.50pm on Saturday.

1 other interesting thing about the odds. It has been stated on this thread the Crawley are 1/3 on to be promoted. I think all of us agree they would in all likelyhood have to win to get promoted. So why would you take the 1/3 when the win is 8/11 . Just a thought. ok I agree in pricipal with all that most people are saying . And no this is NOT a wind up because I do not see the other 2 winning. I think Torquay will lose and Crawley will draw and we will win. The treble paying approx 15/1. Now stop doubting and go and get on.

Do you put onions in your burger? :raspberry:

Fair enough, but some people seem to think we have a very good chance of promotion this Saturday when in reality it's a very long shot. Just trying to inject some reality and trying to save disappointment.

The odds are different because Crawley can get promoted even if they lose. So to win the game they need to win (shocker) to get promoted they can win lose or draw, if the other results go their way.

I assume as you are so certain of the results you will be having a bet on that 15/1 !

The odds are also shorter because the 1/3 price also includes the possibility of them being promoted through the play-offs.

I think you have to assume that we will win vs Macclesfield. If we don't then we don't deserve promotion. Crawley and Torquay will certainly be assuming that they'll need the win.

Stop being so negative !

I am going to put two bets on this weekend:

Southend W W
Crawley D D
Torquay D L

I dont see Crawley losing again so wont cover that one. Hopefully promotion & cash this Saturday.

Oh I certainly expect that to happen. Just saying how the odds are affected by the possibility.

I cant see us scoring less than 2 Saturday.

I hope you're right but I'll be amazed if you are. Personally, I'll take a decent win on Saturday to set us up nicely for the play-offs. I won't get excited about the prospects of automatic promotion until half time on Saturday, and only then if we're winning and Crawley and Torquay aren't.

From past experience, best to expect nothing then you won't be disappointed!
