How I long for the day when I click on a mrsblue post that isn't slagging off a player or the club in general.

Probably got more chance of winning the EuroMillions to be fair.....

Let us see if Phil doesn't play him then!

And as for asking him that very question hahahahahahahahahahahaha yeah of course Phil would admit it.

For a team with serious aspirations of promotion, 7 points from 5 games isn't good enough. Losing to AFC Wimbledon isn't good enough. The lack of a 20 goal season striker isn't good enough. Fans pay a lot of money to support their team each season and to see Southend floundering as we current are is a bitter pill to take. Fans vent their frustrations in different ways, and a forum is a way that a lot of fans get their frustrations out

Most sensible thing said on this entire forum for a while. I think people seem to forget this & simply take it too seriously

Agree Webby,

I want to see us improving yet there is little sign of this,Our goals for record is nothing short of terrible ,Our manager seems to have lost the plot yet some on here continue with it's early days and it will come good.I feel sorry for Phil because he has to constantly rebuild yet in truth I don't like his philosophy with defending his main aim IMO.

You maybe content however I am not as we are 14th with only 3 teams scoring less goals and add the fact no win in 4,Yeah I know people say it's only 5 games but these will quickly become 10 15 20 games and we could be in dire need for help.

Oh dear...we were undone yesterday by a bit of naiaivity from Bolger, who should have realised from his 1st challenge on Morgan that he was going to down more than a cheap hooker!! NO dispute about the red card he did tackle him 4 times of which 2 were bookable by the standards of the ref yesterday, who was card happy to both teams, but ironically the 2nd yellow given was so soft, to say Morgan made a meal of it would be an understatement.
But lets get a grip on reality we are in the 1st month of the season, we have our biggest squad for years, there are so many variables from posters on here as to who should start and who shouldn't, do you all truly believe PB knows his strongest 11 yet?? Do any of you know ?? Do you still think the top 6 teams currently will finish there??

Before we go searching for our annual scapegoat of the year, lets see how the next months pan out.

What would be the use of a club loaning a player out ,if said player wasnt going to get playing time,be sensible please!:nope:

Even if this is true, it doesn't mean Shaq will play every week. I'm sure if PB truly believes he will offer nothing to the team, then he will be dropped.

It sounded like Shaq had several loan offers from clubs in League 2. It seems quite correct that he and Spurs would choose the one most advantageous to the player's development which must mean maximum minutes on the pitch in first team games.

Given that he chose us over the other offers, one can assume that assurances were given by SUFC and/or PB that he'd get game time. Whether these are contractual or not, then who knows. However I also assume that Spurs have a recall clause and if they feel Shaq isn't being given a fair crack of the whip then they'll recall him and loan him to one of our competitors.

All sounds pretty reasonable to me - especially if Spurs are paying all or at least a high proportion of his wages.

As for the calls for Williams, Layne or Brown to start ahead of Shaq - I'm sure if PB and his team thought from what they have seen in training and in development games that they were better players than Shaq then they'd be getting a lot more pitch time in first team games than they have so far.

Can't really see any conspiracy theories here, just normal football business management decisions.

Move along people, there's nothing to see here!

Well this thread wins the most predictable thread of the year.

Who would have thought some poor form and mrsblue brings up the same conspiracy theory from last season.

The irony is he is now complaining a young hungry pacy player is playing. Maybe we need another young hungry pacy player.

As for loans, every player is loaned with the intention of getting experience and game time, that doesnt mean it is contractual. Id be interested to hear who should play instead. Barnard ? We had a thread last week slating him and the suggestion came up then it might be contracted, yet he didnt play this week and still not happy.

Brown cant win. (Literally at the moment it would seem)

So repetitive and why I didnt bother coming on over the weekend as knew it was going to happen.

We lost a game because we played with 10 men for most of it.

Brown does not have a philosophy to defend, we have had more shots than our opponents in every game until Saturday, and even with 10 men we had 12 shots, only 3 less than Plymouth and 5 more shots than Burton who are top of the table and won 2-1!

You translate our lack of goals into it being an intentional plan, it is not.

Still got one of the best against records thus far this season - so again as Ive said before, I think we have the players to tinker with to resolve the issue of scoring goals ...., least PB's Plan (which you keep doubting) remains in strong in that we are difficult to break down, score against and therefore also hard to beat !

So all isnt lost just yet is it !

Can't wait for tomorrows game! The match itself will be inconsequential in comparison to the post match post-mortem!

On Couthirst though, where did he play for Orient? And Spurs for that matter? I'm surprised to see him out wide as when we signed him I got the impression that he is a centre-forward primarily.

My initial post stated it would be a good deal for us if Shaq was scoring or setting them up,He is doing neither after he has featured in the 6 games played.Shaq has had the most minutes out of all the forwards.

Would any of you be fussed if Corr had the same type of deal?.

We sign Barnard(silly signing) and don't even play him,Fagan who I thought looked very good in pre season yet we don't sign him yet the club suddenly find 25000 for a defender!,Holman comes to training and quickly signs for another club.

Every single one of us on here wants the same thing which is moderate success yet we have a manager who perseveres with his game plan which fails again and again,On the rare occasion he opted for 442 with pace we then smashed Oxford 3 0 and we looked very good. The triangle football we play look's pretty but no end product so it all because a vicious circle as Phil seems to be hoping we can pinch a goal from somewhere.

I will give up if Phil plays the same system/players in the JPT.

But there was no way of knowing how well he would do prior to him signing.
