Ukip

The amount of times you have countered any criticism of any Labour politician as irrelevant due to time passed and yet here you are quoting something from nearly 18 months ago.
Hypocrite, nothing less.
This morning on Andrew Neil show:
Diane James, the new leader of Ukip, agreed her three political heroes are "Putin, Churchill and Thatcher".

Just watched Question Time and though I disagree with a lot of what he says - with the manner in which he says it I think Steven Woolfe would have got a lot less backs up and made debate a much more valuable experience if he had taken the UKIP lead during the referendum rather than Farage. Unless the current government renege on the deal then I don't expect UKIP will have a role to play for much longer so its a shame that someone who could make their point with a bit of eloquence would spend the relevant years in the shadow of the guy who just barked spite the whole time.

Farage won the debate. We voted leave. I don't think UKIP would want to sacrifice that for 'a bit of eloquence'.

Farage is a national hero IMO ,having a pint and smoking a fag outside boozers, politician keeping it real, love it.

The EU gave vast sums of cash to billionaires and royalty who all owned land, that ain't keeping it real.

Just this week Jeremy breathed life into UKIP. Free movement and unlimited immigration is the reason Labour have lost the next GE already. Doesn't matter what else you come up with, or how good the policy is. You have lost.

People knew exactly what Farage wanted, which is why he was worth more votes than every single Labour MP put together. Your lad last night on Question Time, the one from Leeds. See I've forgotten his name already. People can't stand these faceless wonders who unconvincingly churn out the party line.

With the London elite trying to whinge their way out of the referendum result and the likes of Dian Abbot and Shami (don't leave me in a room with an Essex man) Chakrabarti.'given the freedom to slag us all off. We nee UKIP more post Brexit than we did before June 23rd.

PS as Chakrabarti is Chancellor of Essex University I will expect the students to launch a social media witch hunt. Protests at the campus etc, over her comment at the Labour conference. Fully supported of course by your good self

Whatever Farages methods and manners are, he will go down in history as a leader of a party that scared the Tories into a referendum, and then successfully winning it.
The party he led as some on here are fond of reminding us only had one MP, so to achieve all that he has should deserve some credit.

Truth is Riggers the LP have become one medium sized protest movement,Corbyn even protested against his own party several hundred times...don't get me started on Chakrabarti..whenever she is on the TV she is protesting about something, normaliy immigrants and their plight.

Did he though? Many many people are put off his politics because of the way he debates - it could well be the case that millions of people were dissatisfied with the EU but figured that if Farage, Gove, Johnson were the kind of people backing Leave then they must be mistaken. With a change of rhetoric maybe Leave would have won by a landslide rather than a tiny margin.

Anyway MrsBlue is babbling and Rigsby is full on rant - I figured saying something positive about a UKIP representative would be appreciated and a discussion on his merits may follow. I think I'll resist the temptation in future - if I reply to Rigsby then we will have yet another Labour thread under a different title - the man is obsessed.

Sorry if the truth hurts. As that lad in the audience last night said, You claim to be the Party of tolerance but if somebody says something you don't like and you don't agree with, then you always attack or try to shout down. As we have already witnessed these tactics are full encouraged by the new Labour left wing.

Hear hear !

Remember the old Labour tactic, anyone not agreeing were roundly called racist or bigoted, the left of that crowd will never change, hence why they will be out of power for one very long time, politics has moved on with immigration as the number one fear for the majority as towns and cities have changed forever,Corbyn and his cronies just ignore the majority to suit their own agenda.

When the rest of the EU collapses, he will be seen as a man of vision. Those of us who voted Brexit will be able to tell our grandchildren how we saved our country some real misery by being the first to leave. :winking:

How easily you're fooled. Farage was a rich investment banker - about as real as Jordan's tits and he's fooled the country into thinking he's "one of them" by drinking beer and smoking.

'Attack and try to shout down' - yes that is why I have my posts checked by a grown up before they are allowed to be seen in public. If only I had the good nature to come on here and praise a representative of a party I generally disagree with.

Hang on - I think you may be getting the two of us mixed up.

Sure - UKIP helped to force a referendum by splitting the right wing vote so the Tories felt the need to steal their clothes. But Farage probably put off more voters than he appealed to. I'm offering a positive appraisal of a UKIP MEP and suggesting his style may appeal to a cross section of the public - if the EU is unpopular with the UK public maybe Farage delayed the referendum by coming across as a bit of a prick.

You didn't decide which way to vote in the referendum until a few days before - if Farage was that convincing surely you wouldn't have had that wobble.

You know that Shami was Director of the protest organisation Liberty from September 2003 to March 2016 so if you have seen her on TV a lot protesting then she was clearly doing her job?

You know the Tories have been in power for 6 years and despite the promise of reducing immigration to the tens of thousands it has grown in their time and is at a higher level than under Labour?

You know that immigration from EU countries is lower than non EU counties?

You know that Farage wasn't your boy and you are claiming him in hindsight. Your boy was Godfrey Bloom - remember? He was the one who you said spoke for you, but by the time you allied yourself with him he had left UKIP but stuck with his MEP salary as an independent. He was your boy.

Eveyone knew that MK

Farage city worker v Corbyn professional protester who hasn't done a proper days work in his life.

The EU is the sum of its parts. If a part leaves it loses strength so it's not scientific to break a bit off then say 'told you' if what is left is weakened or fails.
That would be like Bentley leaving Southend and we then let loads of goals in and him saying 'see I told you we were ****'. In that scenario we would need a Brentford to want us but we are back of the queue on that and may end up teaming up with Carlisle - about as far away as you can get and poorly supported but grab what you can.

How silly of Corbyn, he wants to be a man of the people but he really has missed a trick by not drinking and smoking in public :dim:
