When did she say she was a big fan of Putin?
during an LBC radio interview in April 2015 that she "admired" Russian President Vladimir Putin for his leadership strength.
"I admire him from the point of view that he is standing up for his country," she said in response to a question about Russian aggression in Ukraine. "He's very nationalist... I do admire him. He is a very strong leader."

Thanks Chaps...so she admires him for being a strong Leader.

and a nationalist - whilst discussing the Russian invasion of Ukraine

She continued: "He is putting Russia first and he has issues with how the EU encouraged a change of government in the Ukraine, which he felt put at risk and put in danger a Russian population in that country.

I took the liberty of pasting from the Independent link kindly supplied by Paul.

The piece is a year old, not that relevant particularly but if you scroll to the bottom these were Halcyon days for Labour in the opinion polls managing neck and neck with Tories.

LOL for the last comment - obsessed!

In fact LOL for her EU comment - you have attempted to mitigate her admiration for Putin by highlighting the fact that she pits Russia against the EU and comes out in favour of Russia. Not sure that is a vote winner.

The amount of times you have countered any criticism of any Labour politician as irrelevant due to time passed and yet here you are quoting something from nearly 18 months ago.
Hypocrite, nothing less.

You might want to put your toys back in the pram.
Pretty much no-one knows who she is so I mentioned the one thing she was famous for. Callan asked for more detail so I gave it and he said thanks.

LOL????? why are you using text speak?

I haven't mitigated anything...merely pasted a quote into my post from the link supplied, if it counters your assertion that she is a big fan of Putin, or was said because of the EU's policy on Ukraine the it is only fair to have that context.

As for the date of the piece ....it comes from a time when Labour doing OK in the polls....whats the problem in pointing that out?

I've probably used LOL about 4 times ever.

The quote was from the new leader of UKIP and it was about Putin, Russia, EU, Ukraine and her assessment of all of these things and how it led to her expressing admiration for Putin.

At no point did she mention Labour or does this thread have anything to do with Labour or how popular Labour were at the time of the quote have any relevance. That is why I awarded it a LOL - because it made me laugh out loud that would wanted to bring Labour into the conversation for no apparent reason.

Listened to her exceptence speech. She has a lot to learn about oratating. Can see Hamilton being puruged in the no too distant future. She isn't a fan and makes no secret of the fact. Interesting times ahead.

I'd say she's pretty good on TV,which is probably the main reason she got the gig.

Hamilton has been chopped from the conference schedule which is a little surprising as he is group leader in Wales but many would see him as a liability. What surprises me more though is Carswell has been given a 5 minute slot whereas all other speakers get 15 minutes. Seem to be alienating their only MP which is odd.
