Could be popular with Labour voters who remember Prescot chucking lefts and rights after being egged.
A council seat each in these regions yesterday:
Plaid take Port Talbot from Labour
Labour take Braintree from Tories
Lib Dems take East Riding from Tories
Tories take Strood from UKIP
Plus a hold or 2 for the 3 biggest parties. Mixed results but the pattern over the last 3/4 months has been gradual rise of Lib Dems and sharp decline of UKIP

I note in the Witney by-election labour were pushed into third by the Lib Dems even though there was a massive shift in votes away from the tories.
yeah, I think tactical voting plays a big part. Labour vote seems to be increasing in areas where they are already strong but weakening elsewhere - they had a massive surge in Central Middlesborough and took 74% of the vote yesterday (and Cons and Libs both stood).I note in the Witney by-election labour were pushed into third by the Lib Dems even though there was a massive shift in votes away from the tories.

UKIP lost their deposit in Witney.
Surely more proof that the wrong man is leading the party?
It's where you're not strong is where you need to be picking up, not the other way around.
