Ukip

Woolfe is ok....however...

Mike Hookem named as Ukip MEP involved in fight with Woolfe

A source close to the party said the fight happened when Mike Hookem, MEP, turned up to the Strasbourg meeting at 10am and “made a few choice words” to Woolfe about “defecting to the Tories”.

“Steven Woolfe has then taken his jacket off, walked over and said, ‘Right, you outside now’ or words to that effect,” the source told the Guardian. “They went outside and Steven Woolfe got the brunt of it.”

It is understood that Woolfe walked away from the fight and appeared well enough to vote half an hour later. However, Woolfe left the vote mid-way through and then collapsed before he was taken to hospital.

The source added that Woolfe is thought to be conscious and recovering well to hospital treatment. Nathan Gill, his fellow MEP and a close friend, is at Woolfe’s hospital bedside.

The source said he is concerned about what will happen next to both MEPs. “Steven was the aggressor but Hookem has hit him and I just know the way that will come across,” the contact said.

I'm supporting Raheem Kassam in the UKIP Leadership race but I have no problem with Woolfe acting like a man rather than a beta cuck politician. Hope he fully recovers and then invokes his rematch clause. I want to see Woolfe vs Hookem II, preferably in a steel cage.

A council seat each in these regions yesterday:

Plaid take Port Talbot from Labour

Labour take Braintree from Tories

Lib Dems take East Riding from Tories

Tories take Strood from UKIP

Plus a hold or 2 for the 3 biggest parties. Mixed results but the pattern over the last 3/4 months has been gradual rise of Lib Dems and sharp decline of UKIP

Saw UKIP's representative on QT last night.Don't think she'll help cut that 4% gap that UKIP face in Hartlepool -especially not if the next g/E is in 2020.

I note in the Witney by-election labour were pushed into third by the Lib Dems even though there was a massive shift in votes away from the tories.

yeah, I think tactical voting plays a big part. Labour vote seems to be increasing in areas where they are already strong but weakening elsewhere - they had a massive surge in Central Middlesborough and took 74% of the vote yesterday (and Cons and Libs both stood).

UKIP lost their deposit in Witney.

Surely more proof that the wrong man is leading the party?
It's where you're not strong is where you need to be picking up, not the other way around.

Labour will never win in seats like Witney, whoever their leader is.It's a Tory heartland constituency.

(Don't forget there was less than 50% turnout. Also the UKIP candidate lost his deposit, which is where most of the Lib/Dem votes would have come from, along with disaffected Tory voters of course).

Interestingly,Witney actually voted in favour of remain in June.
