most likely a load of rubbish (like most things on th FTR site), but anyway.....

Southend United have agreed personal terms with West Brom's Luke Daniels. The clubs are yet to agree a fee.

The blues are also currently talking to an ex-premier league full back with the aim of tightening up their defence.

Also 2 senior Southend United players have given their committment to the club this transfer window, on the condition that they are free to leave if the club does not get promotion this season."

None of them quite rival your Ryan Hall thread though Razam, which i thought was pretty good

oh for the sheer hell of it - as rumours go this one doesn't sound so far fetched but as for Gary Neville joining ...

That one's definitely true...It's Duncan Jupp

Chris Phillips mentioned that both Hall and Mohsni have attracted 'solid interest' from Championship clubs this window. He also clarified that Kane hasn't.

I will be very surprised if we keep hold of hall, the man with the most assists in english football. 300/400k imo

How on earth is he worth so little? I know he's not a striker, but even if he playing up top and had his record (28(5) games, 10 goals, 15 assists) we'd be saying give us 500k-1m. Surely as a winger he's worth even more creating that from further back. He's a quality player and won't be leaving this window unless we get an extraordinary offer IMO. If he left for anything less than a million the club would be mad, putting promotion under real threat (he's played a hand in 40% of our goals this season).

Are you having a Giraffe..that figure would be ridiculously low for Hall, especially when you see some of the money being talked about for players with half his talent. Nothing less that 1 Mill in my books and he isn't going anywhere anyway.

A league two player with a troublesome past? £500K max, maybe with some sell on clauses - but I agree we'd be mad to let him go.

A troublesome past hasnt stopped the likes of Bellamy, Barton and Bowyer (must be something about the letter B) getting multimillion pound moves. Has nothing to do with it, you pay for the quality of the player. Hall is the best player we have had since Eastwood, the potential to be even better, and is in my opinion the best midfielder in the league (closely followed by Matt Ritchie). Luckily he seems very committed to the club and is adored by the fans, so as long as the club continues to progress upwards I cant see him leaving (unless of course a really silly bid came in but that is unlikely in the current climate).

Whilst Hall has a great delivery (which is exploited due to generally poor defending in League 2), I'm not convinced that he has the speed or skill needed to make it as a winger in the CCC. Best for him to stick with us if we go up to L1 and take it from there.

None of that stopped Beckham in the premier league!:winking:

True! I'm not saying Hall can't make a step up a league or two, but there are definitely some uncertainties, in particular about his athleticism and fitness. Beckham had a phenomenal engine, and even if not the quickest he regularly covered the most ground in games.

Beckham was a lot stronger and a better athlete than Ryan Hall. I tend to agree with Pubey about the things which may stop Hall progressing up the leagues but I'm sure that someone will want to give him a chance at some point.

Quote from Luggy in the echo

'We’ve told clubs who from our squad is available but we’ve had no contact from anyone.'

No surprise!

Over-estimates all the way. League 2 player - going rate is £250,000 or even less; and Southend have always received lower fees (only maybe with Fry did way get more than we should have).

Well, long may the over-estimates continue.

Getting rid of him, would be like chopping a nad off. It will still work, but it won't have the same potency.

Im sure i read somewhere yesterday that the two players that were attracting the attention from champ clubs had both said that they were very happy to stay, but if we didnt get promoted they would be open to a move. My guess would be Moshni and Hall. I think that deal is fair and by doing that it doesnt impact on the promo run.

Also i read that Hall was one of those who is to be offered an improved and new contract, thus, in the summer if we were to sell we have more chance of getting a better fee. Also we are running out of time to get a replacement in if he does leave.

Thought it will be intresting come 31 Jan, we of course play swindon that night, so im guessing whoever plays that night will be staying. If for example Hall, Grant etc are not in the side then the rumour mill will continue to roll.
