Just seen that AFC Wimbledon have snapped up Billy Knott from Sunderland , have posted a few times about this lad is he is an old scholl winger who scores goals too , would have him here in a heart beat as I believe he will be a top player .

Local lad too who i reckon would jump at the chance at Roots Hall , very creative too so would replace Hall if does go

i have known billy for years a brilliant player played against him when i played for southend and arsenal youth great winger and can operate in centre midfield.

Anyone know who the guys that Sturrock mentioned he was going to talk to about leaving are? Surely a few forwards are in that bag?

Yes he really is a good player , I have watched him progress over the years from when he was kicking a ball about at Half Time over Concord when I played there , he was decent as a 10 year old back then and reading the Sunderland Forum they have high hopes for him .

Played against him just before he was having trials at Newcastle and has very quick feet and very direct player with bags of energy , I will keep an eye on how he gets on at AFC Wimbledon .

Anyone with latest transfer news ?

Sorry if this should come under the transfer window thread.

I just wondered if anyone on here knew something or other as regards the sales or releasing of players?

Hope things can stay as they are and I'm sure will succeed this season.

As for what I've heard the south London press said Millwall were thinking about making a bid for Hall with Hull and Peterborough also interested.

And Journo pals of mine say grant but especially Kane is being linked with Ipswich.

Am I the only one that is surprised that no-one from Scotland has yet signed ............ many of the rumours I heard (and passed on .........) were around Sturrock bringing some Scottish talent down south ........... instead we sign someone from Derby and then Ireland via Bolton .............:tease:

Luke Daniels

I got an interesting text from my mate who lives up in Manchester on the way home from the game yesterday. He said Southend's on loan goalkeeper is his boss's son in law. He asked if I wanted anything signed and I just said he was a decent keeper but he'd gone back to his club now.

He sent me another message later on saying Luke had said he really enjoyed his time at Southend and was hoping they offered him a contract when his expires.

That's not exactly news. It was mentioned on the transfers rumours thread. As I said, we have enquired after him. He's also cheaper than Morris.

Well, it makes a terrific contrast to the position the club was in a year or so ago - and it does no harm to look back and see how far the club has club since the dark, dark days of relegation and financial mayhem.

And I would be very pleased to see Daniels back - if we get promoted I would expect to see another goalie being signed. Daniels and Morris would make a fabulous pair vying for the position.
Who knows by then a new ground might very well be in the stages of construction (well 1 or 2 sides of it anyway!!! :hilarious:)
