Ryan Donaldson would be great signing for us, if we get the pig on a season long loan id be more than happy, & I'm sure Brown will have targets up his sleeve, its only a week on since the Play Off final so I'm not worried by the lack of movement.

If Cambridge offered to double Corr's money i not surprised he took it like a shot

He has scored 9 goals in 44 games in league two, why would he be a great signing for League One?

He has vision & a great engine with a key pass, he scored 9 goals in a, lets be honest, **** poor Cambridge team who came up from non league, Corr scored 16 in a promotion winning team & took penalties in 49 games........... so a better strike rate from an att mid compared to Corr, a striker!!

Ryan Donaldson scored 7 goals last season, a goal every 519 minutes.
Barry Corr scored 16 goals last season, a goal every 198 minutes.

Jack Payne has more goals than Donaldson in fewer minutes, a goal every 266 minutes.

Again, Coors a striker in a promotion winning team
Donaldson an att mid in a **** poor team

Imagine Payne & Donaldson playing behind a Pigott type player......WOW that would be creative & full of goals!!

Going on some people logic, Benteke is crap cos Villa are!!

So a striker who plays for a promotion winning team is crap if they only get 16 goals, yet if someone gets 5 goals in a poor team they must be amazing?

No-one is saying Donaldson is crap because Cambridge are crap, but 5 goals even for an attacking midfielder isn't great. O'Toole got double figures for a relegated Bristol Rovers team ...

From what I can see Lee Angol is out of contract this summer at Luton, although being only 20 we'd still have to pay a fee. Has had a great season in conference south and fit the mrsblue mould, young quick and hungry haha. Seriously though, looks like a very good prospect.

Saw him score 2 for Boreham Wood and he was excellent.

me , im easily pleased , i want a couple of strikers with pace ,nous and ability to each score 15 goals in div one. Told you im easily pleased
.

Before pre season starts please 2 new strikers.

Two? You're easily pleased.

I think most people are hoping for at least 2 permanent strikers to sign - if not three and a resigned view to having another loan striker (or two) that we develop for another club to make money out of.

Haven't seen him personally but everyone I know who has seems to rate him very highly. I'd expect him to be playing league football somewhere next season, most likely at Luton

Looking at the retained/released list, we have the following under contract (or been offered a contract for next season).

GK:
Dan Bentley
Ted Smith

DEF:
John White
Ben Coker
Luke Prosser
Adam Thompson
Cian Bolger
Adam Barrett

MID:
Ryan Leonard
Kevan Hurst
Michael Timlin
Will Atkinson
Jack Payne
Jack Bridge
Myles Weston
David Worrall
Gary Deegan

FWD:
Jason Williams

So that's 18 professionals, of which 3 are really only kids and unlikely to start games for us (with the possible exception of Ted Smith). What squad size do you think would be reasonable for us? I would say 24 including the kids which means we need to make about 6 signings!

I think he'll be in the market for 3 strikers, 1 wide midfielder, 1 full back and possibly another 'keeper (possibly an older one to mentor the young lads).

6 signings sounds okay to me - 1 or 2 central defenders perhaps and 3 strikers plus a different type of midfielder who can twist and turn with the ball.

Yep, and a Creative Midfielder would be good to, as it stands our centre mid is very workmanlike and solid but I can't see matches being won from there.

That said , make us hard to beat and get lucky with a couple of cracking forwards who create their own chances and we could have a good season.
Brown , I feel will be going down the hard to beat route again next season

Panic not everyone, I've run several simulations (i.e. played FIFA 15 a few times) with the following line up:

Bentley
White Laing Barrett Coker
Worrall Leonard Bobby Reid Banton
Cassidy Robinson

Comfortably beat Chesterfield 4-0 (Reid, Cassidy, Robinson x2), Sheffield United 4-1 (Robinson, Cassidy, Weston x2) & Col Ewe 3-0 (Robinson, Banton, Leonard).

So all we need to do is sign Laing, Bobby Reid, Banton, Cassidy and Robinson. There you go Brown, easy! :winking:
