I won’t say either way who any of the targets we are interested in.

On Akinde. Two things. Firstly, he was a MM target. There are people at the Club who were extremely annoyed and bitterly disappointed with his change of heart in January. Whether those people would like him at the Club remains to be seen.

Also, Clubs play players who are “out of favour” during pre-season as well. I mentioned about trialists in this thread, and an Akinde would fit into the bill of protecting the amount of minutes others get, don’t forget their season starts next weekend. Also, even if he is out of favour, it only takes a change of heart, a run of poor form, or even an injury crisis to be playing, so you are best off keeping players fit just incase.

Some of our players today aren’t in the reckoning for the first team and they played. Same situation could be said of Akinde.
