Indeed Baz. I think we all learned last night that you aren't going to win **** all with a bunch of 30 somethings at the back.If the Demi deal as stated is done and not being announced because of Elvis leaving, then I assume the intention would be to try to make it appear as a bit of an appeasement move, for losing another of our better prospects for yet another past their best

Penalty shootouts are a competition of skill and nerve. They are not a lottery. To be fair, they didn't win. They drew. Penalty shootouts are a lottery unaffected by age.
We used Akinola as a striker last season. If it's 451 formation we have 3 strikers that's good enough to start the season. If we change formation we might need one for or get that QPR/Norwich loanee in
I echo your words. Are you legia fan?Not bothered, only want to hear the news about two new strikers and a winger!
Whatever, they are not affected by age, Patch.Penalty shootouts are a competition of skill and nerve. They are not a lottery.
Penalty shooyouts are a farce ,should never have been introduced into the game , Football supposed to be a team game ,not an individualists gamePenalty shootouts are a competition of skill and nerve. They are not a lottery.
2strikers and a decent playmakerNot bothered, only want to hear the news about two new strikers and a winger!
Yeah this. This is the other side of the argument for getting experienced players in. They’re ready now. Starting the NL season with a run of defeats like we did last season could be disastrous. Let’s get some points on the board then look at bringing through younger players or get some loans in to freshen things up.I'm not a massive fan of our former Cypriot international, but maybe a one year deal would be good for all parties if Elvis does move on as expected. The other two right backs in the squad (Rob Howard and Reiss Chandler) are quite inexperienced so JD could be the catalyst to be a short term measure whilst those two are trained up to eventually take the number 2 shirt.
Let's be honest, a bit of forward planning for a bloody change wouldn't go amiss!
Yep ??I echo your words. Are you legia fan?
Getting Promoted first time around maybe a big ask given the number of ex league clubs in this league. Let’s not forget that a number of these big clubs have the benefit of playing in this league for a while and are more than aware of the strengths of other teams.Yeah this. I think PB’s thinking is, let’s have a go at getting up first time. I’ve always thought JD was harshly criticised, he’s rarely let us down at RB and he’s a grafter. He’s also not distracted by agents or where he might play next. That’s not a dig at Elvis but a fact. And starting with Howard is risky.
Yep, I very much fear that this may be a long haul.Getting Promoted first time around maybe a big ask given the number of ex league clubs in this league. Did they? I didn’t see them “run us ragged” at all. Regards JD (as this isn’t the England thread)…who said he was past his best? He’s certainly capable of playing RB in the National League. Last summer people were saying his knees had gone and he wouldn’t last 2 games in a row.You may not have noticed that 12 Italians got on the park at peak age and ran us ragged
I'm a big Phil fan but I don't think it was that good. All gone very quiet on the transfer side very worrying after god start to recruitment
If all it took to be promoted out of the NL was to bring in a few old heads I suspect the likes of Wrexham and Stockport would have returned to the FL a long time ago and it would not have taken Lincoln as long as it did.Did they? Last 2 seasons we’ve lacked leadership and experience and that’s what PB is after. No matter how many times you bring up the age thing, PB won’t budge on what he thinks we need.
