A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

Our current forward options are Murphy, Rush, Akinola and Halford.

Appreciate that Akinola might be off but if there's time for a transfer out to be sorted, there's also time for a transfer in to be sorted. Most likely a loanee - and I think we were going to have a QPR and a Norwich youngster join us for pre-season.

It's also worth noting that Brown used a lot of 4-5-1 or 4-1-4-1 in his first stint.
Hasn't halford left the club? Akinola not a striker. In my mind we have only 2.

Derby have just released 3 goalkeepers - Scott Carson, Jonathan Mitchell and Emmanuel Idem.

Carson's been on loan at Man City, so seems unlikely to be him. Of the other two, Mitchell spent a season on loan at Northampton and Idem was on loan at Canvey. Would suggest therefore Idem is the most likely to be considering coming to a National League club as 2nd/3rd choice keeper!

Could well mean he is going to be right back, which i am not too unhappy about - will do a job at this level.....in midfield though....noooooooooooooooooooooooo
I think PB has clear preference that Demi plays RB.

As we saw last season when he played there he is still the best RB at the club. Might be short term (2 years max) but we will be stronger not weaker having him in there. In CM I think there are divided views for sure. RM probably would be better than CM but not as effective as RB. If he is primarily RB but providing cover/options elsewhere when needed then that is the optimal outcome (other than it means no Elvis which longer term is less good).

I'm not a massive fan of our former Cypriot international, but maybe a one year deal would be good for all parties if Elvis does move on as expected. The other two right backs in the squad (Rob Howard and Reiss Chandler) are quite inexperienced so JD could be the catalyst to be a short term measure whilst those two are trained up to eventually take the number 2 shirt.

Let's be honest, a bit of forward planning for a bloody change wouldn't go amiss!

Rob Howard is very promising- indeed according to Kings Lynn already decent at this level.. I think that is the forward planning.

Ravas as well but hes already signed for FK Senica.

We used Akinola as a striker last season. If it's 451 formation we have 3 strikers that's good enough to start the season. If we change formation we might need one for or get that QPR/Norwich loanee in
Akinola not a striker! Your right interms of the formation brown may potentially play which could decide on how many strikers we sign.... brown was playing 442 last season, with that in mind we need to sign 2 strikers before ball kicked.

Although Akinola seems to be primarily a 'wide' player , I think he could do a decent job up top in a two.
Therefore with Murphy , Akinola and Rush , I think one more striker might be ok to start with.
I actually think given a run in the side and a bit of fortune , Rush will get a few goals next season.
