Transfer news
Assuming as loan is from parent club (Orient) there was a break clause in Jan we could activate?
Should free up a reasonable wage although we were only paying a % and that may equate only to a typical wage in the squad. So i wouldn't get too excited given our limited budget...

As promising as Collin maybe his lack of height goes against him and can leave us vulnerable against corners and set pieces.

Does it? Has he actually conceded that many from set pieces?

He's never really struck me as being particularly short, must be 6 foot
Look at the name of the person you're replying to. If the name is anything to go by, anyone will be short in comparison.

Joking aside, I don't think Collin is particularly tall, but he's not short either. We had this same argument time and again when Darryl was in goal for us. At the time I remember an interview with a central defender at a PL club who was saying it doesn't matter if a 'keeper comes for crosses or not. What the defence wants is consistency so they know what to do themselves. Basically always come, or don't, but don't mix and match. If Collin isn't considered tall enough then he needs to ensure his defence is aware of what his intentions are.

It said a break clause had been triggered on the Orient site earlier today, didn't say who triggered it. Anyway hopefully a little room to improve the squad now eh?

I really hope with this departure, it means a player is waiting to sign imminently.

Errrhhh? Not sure [thinking face].

Only that if we are waiting to sign player(s) from The Football League then we may have to wait for their clubs to complete some of their own transfer activity, yes? [shoulder shrug]

Perhaps not imminent but a week or two away?

Not that it’ll take much to replace what Moncur offered but you’d like to think we had someone waiting in the wings before agreeing to the loan deal come to an end early.

No inside knowledge whatsoever and just a hunch, but I wonder if we might look to bring Fonguck back into the fold. Hasn't been in the picture the last few games, and whilst not a player to set the world on fire, knows our setup well and the management team like him too.

Would agree with you, Darryl Flahavan was only 5ft 11 inches, didn't hold him back at all.
Flahavan was absolutely brilliant in League One,I fondly remember so many diving saves.NOT against Manure when Ronaldo insisted on shooting from miles out and they all went more or less straight at Darryl.
Flahavan also displayed excellent footwork and that would have been more than useful nowadays BUT he wasn’t tall enough to play even one level up and in the Championship season we conceded so many goals from headers in and around the 6-yard box.
