Just on out way home and looking at the squad we have. They proved last year that they can produce decent football and played under extreme circumstances. They they are rewarded with nice new contracts and mostly 2 years. Therefore these players we have we are stuck with unless we can offload. We need additions for sure but how much room is there in the squad and also budget to do so if we don’t lose a few ?
This is what’s so frustrating to me, so many players we know are capable of better are underperforming week after week. Bridge, Husin, Miley & in the last couple of months GSM, I’m looking at you. They need to stand up and be counted, or Maher needs to give them an extended period on the bench. All are being picked on previous form, yet let us down week after week.

Bridge & Husin particularly wind me up, both were excellent v Charlton yet reverted to sub par **** in the league.

Fantastic shout but as you say as he does well with he’s other jobs hence why he stayed where he is for so long .. we defo need a solid / strong demanding cb
We need a big solid leader at the back in the mold of a Byron Webster or Jack Cook.

I would love us to have Jack Cook, I know he has this amazing Nike job, wonder if we could do something to sign him and still let him do his job. He would be exactly what we need.

we have Golding but he don’t even make the bench 🤷‍♂️
Just asked Chris Phillips at the services why Golding wasn’t in the squad and he said that there wasn’t room or he wasn’t needed as Gubbins was back. WTF, he played 8 games for Maidenhead in this league scoring twice. He must be better than that what Crowther had to offer today. Why bring him on load and then not play him?

Very strange, I’d like to see him start on Boxing Day.

Bit of a long shot but Sean Morrison is still without a club after departing Rotherham, obviously played for us many moons ago and would be a big experienced bully. Clucas from the same side joined Oldham, Naylor at Chesterfield etc but probably wouldn’t come cheap

I don't think Tony Adams has a club either. Maybe we could sign him too?

We signed a CB on loan and he doesn’t even get in the ****ing squad today.

Does it matter who we sign tbh.

Imagine any other manager other than a club legend dishing up this dross and the flack they’d be getting!
Don't need 2 centre backs on the bench - and I'd rather have a contracted player ahead of a loan player in the squad - unless like Pepple, the loan player is mustard.

I think a lot of what is going wrong is about no real Kensdale replacement - a defender comfortable on the ball with a varied passing range. To a lesser extent no real Fonguck replacement. Give Golding a chance in the middle of the back three and maybe it sounds crazy but I would ask Miley to attack the spaces Fonguck did and to be more a Timlin than a #6.

Agree so then the question is why the hell sign him?
Gubbins was injured when he first came in on loan - although I think we knew he was only a week or so away from fitness. So a bit of cover and maybe to take a closer look if there is potential for a permanent signing.

Interesting thoughts but good and committed as he was Timlin was yet another one goal a season midfielder. Please no more of them!

Tbh. I'm not sure I trust the current management team to bring in the right players or use them effectively.

This season was written off months ago..

The fact 13 players last season are head and shoulders above the current larger squad tells its own story.
Those closer to things and ITK have however highlighted the standard of players we had indeed identified and would have brought in? The recruitment was effective up until the point we couldn’t actually sign anyone due to the fruit drink? This has been explained many times- are you not believing what you are being told? Do you think they are making it up? Just one example being terms agreed with Ollie Pearce?

We just go around in circles and will continue to do so because we just create alternative facts as needed?

I will judge the recruitment team on who we bring in in terms of Kendall plus signing to the end of January. And, of course in the summer even more so.

Whilst I agree that the players we should have signed would have made us a better side, letting Powell and Wes has made us a worse side.

Those players left because we should have signed better players to replace them. At a time when we couldn't sign players.
