I'm hoping that transfer talks will have been going on in the background and that if/when the takeover is complete, we'll see a flurry of new signings pretty quickly. Similar to when Sturrock came in and we had lots of players on pre-contract agreements.

As others have already alluded, that will certainly be the case.

However, we have already missed out on a large number of targets who just couldn't wait around. Don't blame them either.

We are at the tipping point now though. The deal has to go through imminently, or we will be left with option x, y and z on the shopping list.

I’m really disappointed that it sounds like Lomas is off. Thought he has bags of potential and will get better with age, another one we will no doubt have lost out on a fee for.

I remember hearing somewhere he's not living nearby and the travel was causing him difficulties so may have been off regardless of payment issues.

i had heard from someone who claimed to be a mate of his (not verified) that he was wasn't happy about being in and out of the team when he felt he was playing well last season, so possible that has contributed to it. but there's a much clearer route to playing time for him now with Hobson and Lopata out of the picture.

After a brief chat with Louis if I recall there was also a long journey in to the area for him and a little one to look after. Not getting paid is going to make that many times more difficult to take on the chin. Seems a genuinely nice, switched on lad and you can't blame someone for wanting to put themselves first.

Also, I think he's based in Luton which is only 15 minutes longer than his journey to Brackley from whom he was signed from. Can't imagine the distance being a factor.

I agree, but the question was will we get a fee or can he walk. It's not clear to me that the breach of contract lasted long enough to enable him to walk out.
