All whilst we remain uncertain as to whether or not we’ll even exist in a weeks time.. teams in our division continue to make bloody good signings.

Only thing I'd say to this, is that if he had improved at the 2 clubs he's been loaned to since being with us then he wouldn't be signing for Barnet. I think he's plateaued a bit.

I don't think it's a huge miss, personally.

Someone who I think would’ve been useful for us.

We know he’s a creative midfielder, but after his loan at Boreham Wood he’s also now got the experience of defending in an effective midfield three. Would’ve fit nicely into our 3-5-2.

We've got enough players like that who can play behind the front two - Powell can, Mooney, Bridge, Fonguck, Husin did in spells.

Is Brunt better than those? Maybe, but dont consider that a loss.

As for creativity, shot shy shrimpers scored more than the Wood. In case you don't know if JB had scored that pen at their place, we would have jumped above them into the play-offs on GD

I hope we strike the balance if the takeover goes through, I'm all for us putting a bit of money behind the effort to get up but throwing money at transfer fees for players who have just signed for another club sounds like a worrying way to begin the new era.

I believe Jon is talking about Justham rather than Smith, which isn’t actually a bad shout.
