I’ve heard that as we didn’t get promoted this season, the academy players are free to leave contractually (altho I don’t believe all academy players have been told this)
 
Oh I don't know. I'm sure he's heard really good things about Southend and is keeping his many offers on hold in the hope that we may come in for him.
Is this Tom Bonner we’re talking about? 35 year old Dartford defender? No chance we would be interested in a 35 year old NLS defender.
 
It is worth distinguishing between "signing" a player and "registering" a player?

Under an embargo, we (Southend United) cannot register any players as I understand it ....... but does this stop the club from identifying additional players, negotiating contracts with them & offering them a contract? The new people can't play for Southend United until they have been registered, yes?

Or is that wrong?

This would a useful approach if the presumed sale was progressing well. Whether that approach would be of interest to the players the club is targeting is another matter.

Thats what Paul sturrock did .Signed many players on a pre contract .And if kevinn did the same untill the new owerners take over only time will tell .

They have all been told to find new clubs u16 and down
