Because we already have the nucleus of a very good squad. I'm not saying ditch the principles but probably one or two marquee signings are the difference between play offs and autos
M'lud I give you exhibit A - Michael Ricketts
Lol

I reckon they’d do alright. We wouldn’t win the league with Kane thoughEven if we signed Bellingham (player of the year in Spain), Foden (player of the year in England) and Kane (player of the year in Germany) there is no guarantee they’d be a success here.
When was this public knowledge?

One player I hope the management team might be considering is Jimmy Knowles at Boston United in the National League North. He is 22, 6ft in height, and scored 19 last season.I'm hoping that could be Wealdstone's Sean Adarkwa. Under contract for 24-25 but paying a modest fee now could prove to be a shrewd longer term investment.
I do believe the club are still paying off his bar bill at the Chelmsford hotel in which he stayed.M'lud I give you exhibit A - Michael Ricketts

Who said they had to be free?Name 3 available on a free.
I did. The Dackers fee will be minimal at best.Who said they had to be free?

ah but those 3 - even though we didn't get promoted - were a success in my opinion.I'll see your Ricketts and raise you Cox, Ferdinand, Fortune etc
I'd have him back (as cover for Ralph)Joe Gubbins, a former loanee, has been released from QPR, a left sided centre half.
Done really well at Accrington this season, and imagine he’ll be lining up in the EFL next season. But an area I’d like us to strengthen.
I agree but I really can't see him being willing to come in for cover when he's been playing league 2 football.I'd have him back (as cover for Ralph)
We’ll be here all day if we list big name signings who didn’t get us promoted.I'll see your Ricketts and raise you Cox, Ferdinand, Fortune etc
Should the thread be locked and new one started for 2024/2025 or is that season too uncertain for us at the moment? We’ll be here all day if we list big name signings who didn’t get us promoted.
Can we return to the topic please which is 2023-2024 transfer rumours.
Dinanga at Gateshead? There is another striker who we are seriously looking into who would be considerably cheaper than McCallum.
Dinanga at Gateshead?
Shame, he looked real quality when we played them at RH.That would be a dream signing, but I think the chances are less than zero with that one I’m afraid.
