The East Stand is a death trap. It absolutely should be the priority. It doesn't bear thinking about if something was to catch light in there.

Football fans want success on the pitch but the actual league doesn't matter. If you're losing every week in league one, it is far less fun than being competitive in the National League. I know this because I remember it well.

We all want out of this league asap, it's embarrassing. But we're still emerging out of rubble, rubbing our eyes and adjusting to daylight.

In hindsight, there were massively unrealistic expectations about this season because we all got a bit giddy about the takeover.
It's not just the seating area either. The changing rooms are horrible, and if we're honest it's a dump. Exits are awful etc. So it should be a priority IMO.

Ricardo Rees maybe worth a look. 25yrs old a striker currently playing for Merthyr Town who are top of the the Southern League Southern Division. Has scored 35 goals so far this season. Early years spent at Bristol City.

Might be a bit of a long shot but Rhys Hughes and Conners Quay may be worth a look.

Ex Everton academy, then onto transfered before moving into Welsh football where he's top scorer as an attacking midfielder.

They are in danger of relegation so we might be more attractive even though we can't offer potential European football

Isn’t that a seaside town in North Wales?

Harvey Sayer is still absolutely banging them in for Lowestoft. Still only 22 and we still need a LWB…
Harvey is a decent little player he went through Norwich and Colchester youth academies and spent 2 years on a pro contract with us but never quite made the grade. He had several loans to smaller local clubs before being released in summer 2023. He eventually went back to his home area and signed for Lowestoft where he has done very well, maybe that is his level we shall see! I say he is small and he is only 5 feet 7 which was one of the reasons he seemed to struggle, but Jack Payne is having a great season for us 7 goals and 13 assists from midfield and he is 2 inches shorter, league one here we come!

He used to play for Great Wakering a few years ago as well as many other clubs around the South East. Must be around 30 now. He did play for Gills for a few games but didn't make the grade.
Family connections at Hullbridge where he calls home. Good solid player who really has enjoyed his football in past few years. Could probably do a job in NL but suspect would now be wrong age for us.

The east stand is in a horrific state now.

But realistically, how long before its actually replaced. 2 or 3 years? Look forward to seeing the plans and ambition in capacity.

As for the team let's hope that white board is ready for the pre season and we hit the ground running next season.

2027 start
2028 finish was what TL said

end of the 26-27 season will see the East stand torn down with the new stand being ready for the 28-29 season

That's if everything goes to plan

I couldn't agree less. To expect a team which challenges for the playoff places under a cloud of financial uncertainty and various transfer embargos to kick on and get that playoff place and maybe more is not 'massively unrealistic'. FourFourTwo predicted Barnet to win the league and for us to be second - it wasn't just blinkered Blues fans who expected great things. This season's performance has been unacceptable. We are well within our rights to expect more.

On that basis, is standing firm and performing similarly this season (having missed out on the summer transfer window and without a major investment in the playing squad) really “unacceptable”?
