Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation Transfer Rumours Etc part 2.....2024/25

Transfer news
If he was 21 if would one thing but at 27 the upside is more limited shall we say
Isn't he out of contract in the summer? Hence why they seemed to be willing to cash in, in January? He will most likely go to the EFL as had some good attributes. But he is 27 and this is the highest level he has played at, so let's not get carried away.

If they don't go up, it's not out of the question he could fancy a move south to the mighty shrimps.

With Bonne, it's like we have had part 1 and part 2. The first part he was not mobile enough and not very fast as he had no pre season, he also couldn't score, was easily marked, and was lacking confidence in front of goal. I would definitely dump that one. Part 2 is much better. He's fully up to speed. He's much quicker, he's a nuisance, he's doing a much better job all-round for the team, and......he's scoring goals, and looks like scoring more. He's even being voted as Man Of The Match nowadays, something that definitely didn't happen earlier. It's another season at least for me.
Came 2nd to Gus by only a few votes in the Trust's POTM for Feb as well.

No chance us having 6 strikers. We never had 6 centre backs when we play 3 at the back.

Especially as Kev likes working with a small squad
Well there are obvious footballing reasons why you do. Three up top requires a consistent reliable press, it’s hard work. With five subs it makes sense to bring in fresh legs up top around say 60/70 mins (2 or 3 changes) so that press does not drop off. One of the glaring problems we have is that we currently have players who can maintain that level in the first half then as we go into the second half the press drops off and we start to get over run (Sat for example).

Given you also need to cover injuries and suspensions six would be a minimum.

CBs can last a whole game unless they get injured. The physical requirements are very different.

Anyhow three up top without the resources to support it is not a recipe for success….regrettably…
