Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation Transfer Rumours Etc part 2.....2024/25

Transfer news
I loved Coker and still have huge respect for him. To the point where when we played at the Hive this season a called out a few fans that booed him. Brilliant servant and great player for us, moronic behaviour.

However, why on earth do any of us want to read about his aspirations for Barnet?! I couldn't care less. Do we really want to read about how much better than us they were and how they are going for promotion? Good for them. I was there watching unfortunately, I know!

Disappointing as a lot of hype around him. But I understand the caution, he could either be another Freddy Eastwood or a Mark Salter. And with probability it’s likely he’ll be a Mark Salter.

We have to trust their judgement, they’ve watched him play and then been lucky enough to have him train and they don’t think he’s ready. He’ll score against us when he signs for Halifax 100%.
Also we have nowhere to put the rough diamonds that aren’t ready. We need signings who can be active members of the squad…

Hopper is being described as an alternative to Bonne. I’d actually like to see them play together and ideally with Kendall/Walker playing alongside them in a three. I think the pairing would cause a real problem for defences and create space for others - hence why I think an attacking midfielder is crucial

Disappointing as there’s always a bit more excitement around these potential rough diamond, unknown quantity types of players. But he’s 23 I think, which means he needs to be at a certain level as it’s likely the majority of his main development years are behind him.

If we’ve got him in for training and he looks no better than, or not as good as, the likes of Bonne, Waldron, Walker etc. then I feel like it makes little sense doing the deal. If he was 18 or 19 it would maybe be different.

Is odd we always delay it, don’t you think? Annoying. By the time they get round to it you’re like ‘yeah I know, next?’. Brings exasperation I think. If we know the opposition will already know. All rather baffling.

Until it’s confirmed by the club, we “don’t” know for sure… and by that logic, neither do the opposition.

Also, sometimes we like to announce transfers in bunches (I’m not saying that’s the case here) as it’s proven that a flurry of new signings really ramps up people’s excitement, engagement and enthusiasm.
