Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation Transfer Rumours Etc part 2.....2024/25

Transfer news
Wash your mouth out with soap and water ! :Winking:

So as I understand it The Cowleys like to trial these youngsters on loan I ! ? think you have had 8 in on loan

I see you have had ,and got , this season a mix of youngsters including strikers, winger, midfield, centre backs etc and from the likes of under 21s from West Ham x 2, Norwich, Notts Forest and others on; loan from Stevenage , Portsmouth and MK Dons Good use of Prem and Championship

That news has depressed me a bit :Hilarious:especially as you are picking up very well and undefeated in the last 4
! Interesting that the Cowleys like the model and are not afraid to try it ?
Yes we are settling into a good run now, we have lost very few games really (7) but have a lot of draws, if we had turned half of them into wins we would be in the play offs. We have just signed one of Kevin Lisbies sons from Brentford B on a 2.5 year deal, his twin brother Kyrell plays for Braintree, he is highly rated. We kept hold of Tovide because he wanted to stay with us this season, Danny Cowley said every championship club had been in touch wanting to sign him, I think he will be gone in the summer. The Cowleys love a loan, especially players who are on their 2nd loan because they find it less difficult to settle the 2nd time around.

Now where have I heard that 2nd loan theory before

Yes you have defintely picked up !

Interesting point that ,about 2nd time around loanees I hadnt though too much about that but see the value
You do also keep unearthing valuable sell ons I thought and hoped that's what we would be doing that but hasnt worked out so far in more recent times

Must be quite exciting to see all ,the young fresh talent keep arriving. I see Aboh 21, Forbes 20, Donnelly aged 21 ( ?17 Games ) Simpson 22, Mc Donnell 20, ( Notts Forest ) played 20 games approx !

Its nice to think of the Blue Noses of Rangers through the spectrum of one of their nicknames "The Teddy Bears " The Gers of course is the real fan favourite name and Bears came about as a kind of Cockney Rhyming slang as apparently with a very thick Scottish accent Bears becomes Bers to rhyme with Gers

Must have pleased the late Knighted Sir Teddy Taylor , beloved in Southend for his years of service as an MP for Southend East And so we have to our benefit his son on board the COSU train, George Alexander Taylor, former pupil of Southend High School. and third highest share owner of Rangers

His dad was also a Southend Supporter turning up at games when he could, so its great to see that family tradition continue and have George on board with all his financial and other acumens but particularly years of very close involvement with Rangers FC and influential Director and h now here he is also backing our club whilst still strongly funding the Gers, (where his Dad was of course born in Glasgow )

So unless their is an impediment I welcome all the advice , support and funding from George but hope at some point a great young blue nosed Ger ( or two for Company ) ,might be allowed to try their trade South of the Border? on nice shared loan terms? or maybe George helping us a a bit on that front getting it over the line ? However Maybe thats not allowed , given his position, would be interesting to know though

His Degree in Philosophy from Cambridge might be more helpful in the current circumstances

What's Yilla?
What's Yilla?
Sorry was ribbed for mentioning him a few too many times ( probably quite rightly so ) so better not respond to your request really
Well maybe just a bit then....... Top fans favourite at Chatham only 21, Ive seen him in action a few times. real pace, great trickery, can play lwb , left wing, striker, or even midfield. Getrs struck in. ( too many yellows perhaps ? - reminded me of Rikki Otto >) Good with his head in defence, 22 goals last year, takes responsibility for all penalties , never failed to score, Good left foot and crosser, scored some great goals, posted some clips. Not so great this year though, because of injury , a red card and suspension

The Kind of lad we talk about bringing in and nurturing

Relief for all , not allowed to mention again

Especially as Rangers are looking to fold/reduce their B team and let the players focus on senior football. So there could well be a fair few available for loan next season.

They’ve had a handful feature in the first team squad this season, so depending how highly they rate the National League to the Scottish Pyramid we may see some.

Yes that is the model find the lads with potential, polish up those rough diamonds and sell them on for profit, but only if the move is right for the club and most importantly the player. Yes it is great seeing them come in, some like Donnelly we knew would never stay long he was a brilliant player and McDonnell is a superb defensive midfield player who will go back to Forest after a great season with us a much better player. ( Pity we probably can’t sign him!)

This is a point that interests me, I wonder if Rangers folding their B team will influence our approach?

I've never fully been convinced that in this league that it is the way to go although Football isn't my industry.

Did any other clubs take a punt on Dan
Ogunleye (Brentwood)?
I know we have seemingly moved on from him but can't think perhaps a low wage offer to join us for 18 months with the option to re-negotiate his wage if he can make the step up could be good business.

If he can't make the step up then we loan him out to a National League South club with them picking up a % of his wages
