Transfer Embargo, Winding Up Petition & Staff Salary Issues

Could that be a blessing if we were to be wound up and administrators appointed.
Open for prospective buyers to approach the club.
Surely the HMRC must soon stop playing Ron's game, and finally say enough is enough.
You are costing the tax payer to much money exercising these partitions in court each time.

We won't be wound up. Paul Daniels (Sorry, Ron Martin) will find the money as always, even if the bridging loan is late. HMRC are playing hardball, as they cancelled the time to pay agreement which would have run out this December. Yes they keep getting payed late, but they've got millions out of Southend United FC. Considering the pandemic and the current climate with escalating costs on everything, they could have stuck to the agreement. It's in their interest the club survives. Football clubs are cash cows to them.

I suspect the reason for the cancellation of the time to pay arrangement wasn’t just down to missing a payment on that arrangement, when it had just 3-4 months to run. Even with our track record with the revenue that would be incredibly harsh.

I think we may be in arrears for far bigger amounts across the board and the sum total has forced them to take action.

They’ve got wind of the bridging loan and want a clean slate.

Squeaky bum time.

who in their right mind honestly thinks us getting wound up is a good thing? seriously!!!! what a bunch of morons! Yes Ron will be gone but the club will be nothing and we will be a lot lower down the football pyramid.

Interesting to note that the usual Ron stooges and apologists are very quiet on this thread. ??

speak up lads….. we can’t hear you.!!

I think we’re just tired of the Ron out brigade who are not offering any credible alternative.

Brinksmanship with the taxman. We’ve been there so many times it’s boring. We know the script.

Do you really think that stupid chairman of ours is going to lose everything .Rootshall fossetts farm the new training ground Somehow i dont think so .What i dont get is why sink 2 millon pounds into a new training ground .In stead of paying the tax man .

He has to get the team out of B&L at all costs so his dream housing estate can start there asap and it releases some money. I doubt he is actually paying for it himself.

Maybe, just maybe it’s time we let it go. Sufc is like an old pet you don’t want to die, yet hope for a miracle cure.. but then after a period of grieving, you get a new one. Find memories of the old one… but you invest all your time in the new one. ‘Here boy’.. let’s look forward to afc Sufc

I don't think there are many apologists or stooges - just realists.
And people still think he’s the right man to run this club.!

I also don't think anyone agrees with that!

Not so - at every government level, even down to council tax, if there is a time to pay agreement in place and a payment is missed then the whole amount is immediately due.

The winding up order being simultaneously issued is as a result of football clubs generally (historically) using HMRC as a bank. A few years ago they said "Enough is enough" and now, whenever a football club misses a due date for a tax payment, there's no grace period; it's straight to a winding up petition.

This won't be anything to do with us or Ron personally (although they will be obviously gunning for him). I'm sure Ron will not have been taken by surprise by this and if it hasn't already been sorted, then it will be by the 9th November.

Either way, there's sod all any of us can do about it. Stop worrying and enjoy the games between now and then.
