Dave, your enthusiasm is great. But if you think Hall turned them down, then you my man need your head testing!!

If the club agreed terms , which has been stated on here then what other reason is there ?
It may not have been cash, it may be that he didn't like their set up, or that he wasn't going to be 1st choice each week . None of us know . But they must have offered a package, to which he has not said yes.
Maybe he thinks he can do better in Jan ?

Simple. Time ran out. No other reason. Same as the Moutinho and Spurs debacle.

Im sure he will leave on loan at some point this month anyway. So its all immaterial.

hmmmmmm, do we know how long it took for us to say yes ? Did we play hard ball which meant that the final offer came through very late. Or did they make one offer that we said yes to instantly, or something in between ?

Possibly. But after the long hard day yesteday I think Hall won't be in right frame of mind. Bench at best I'd say but would not surprise me if he's not in the18 at all. TBH think he'll won't quite be the player we know he can be if he stays.

Didn't he play a few hours after getting out of prison?

The club said yes, Hall said yes but the paperwork was not completed and submitted before the deadline. Simple as that.

Moutinho didn't happen because the player wouldn't agree wages. As I said yesterday, clubs at all levels are offering far less than they were a year or two ago. I don't think it's out of the question that what Blackpool offered Hall and what Hall wanted to relocate and commit himself for three years (covering his peak years don't forget) were quite far apart and that that couldn't be bridged in 20 minutes.

I don't buy it. Has it been said somewhere that Hall said yes? The League are pretty lenient on submission of paperwork. I suspect it's far more likely that Hall didn't say yes.

If terms have been agreed, but we ran out of time, this will easily be resurrected next week in the form of a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer. Don't expect to see Hall in s SUFC shirt again, and good luck to him and Kane - that league will be a real challenge but an opportunity for the pair of them.

The more interesting issue is Bilel. Doesn't sound like we've agreed terms with anyone and also sounds like he's in France playing for who the hell he wants. Surely we're not paying this lad wages. As it's an employment law issue, the club can't comment but am I the only one that worries they'll screw this up?

Beefy, that is exactly the point I was about to make. Look at the supposed mental implications of what Hall played through around that time, the whole incident, court case and imprisonment. As I recall, he turned in some of his best performances during that time, so I really don't buy into this "his head will be all over the place" lark. Yes, practically, if he had to go to Blackpool and then got back very late, he may be put on the bench rather than start, but I'd fully expect to see Hall feature at some point today.

He also has a point to prove to Blackpool, Peterborough and anyone else that's interested. Just hope he knuckles down and gets on with it in the way he can rather than the way he has been recently.

I just wonder if they've got enough to sack him now. Perhaps they held on until the close of the transfer window hoping someone would come in for him. Seems more and more regretable now that they didn't take West Ham's offer.

As I've just commented on the matchday thread, the fact Wycombe lost Stuart Bevon to Preston yesterday should be good news for us today, shouldn't it?

If I was an employer and paying the wages of Hall and Mohsni , then I would ensure that they both played or sat on the bench etc.
If I was paying them , and needed them to help the team , then that's what they would do.
Any refusal from their side would be a breach of contract.
Wouldn't care what fans thought about the rights and wrongs.
My employees , do as they're told

Hall will feel gutted as on paper he was seen as possibly the one who would lead the exodus of around three or four players ( If you include Grant, Mohsni , Ferdinand). Grant got a move ( admittedly out of contract), Bilel it seems has got away with forcing his way out of the Club and of course Ferdinand completes his move to the Championship. It is because of this I don't think we will see the best of him consistently in a blue shirt again.

Agree to a point, but are your employees also saleable assets?

From CPs tweets we had accepted 250k bid certainly an hour before the deadline by the looks of it so Blackpool were probably in before 10pm
How it could take that long to agree terms if you are desperate to go I dont know- it seems odd. Southend would have everything ready to go for the fax whilst terms were discussed- there seems more to it than meets the eye but whether we get to know I dont know. Hoever, would not be surprised to see Ryan and the club make a statement as it will help manage the fans who will somehopw think Ryan is somehow at fault for daring to want to play for a side challenging potentially for the premiership.

I would have though and hour or even half an hour would be enough for a L2 player on L2 wages to decide to sign for a championship side on championship wages- who know, agent yet again try to be to clever by half and playing games with Blackpool?? If so get a new agent dont blame Southend..
