Top five Blues goals ever.

That goal looked special at the time but on the replay you could see it was a clear mis-hit. Eastwood's goal seconds later was better. Dropped the shoulder, beat two men and rifled it into the corner from about 20 yards with one of the most powerful shots I've ever seen.

Ah. Never seen the replay :o . I do remember Eastwood's goal from that game too, and it was indeed a cracker.

ian_the_girth mentions David Lee vs Brighton in August 2000; that nearly made my top five, a beautifully struck shot.

In fact, in light of Beefy's comments, maybe it'll have to replace Lewis Hunt's goal!

don't think its been mentioned,
but Phil "PAGE 3" Gridlet up at Middlesborough
some years ago, didn't know he had it in him!

For me it has to be Dave Crown vs Wigan one Friday night, he picked up the ball just over the halfway line, right near the dugouts and drifted infield, beating 2 or 3 players on the way, and hammered it into the roof of the net from around 30 yards.. top top quality !!! And to top it all it sealed a 3-2 win after we had been 0-2 down with 20 minutes left

i think someone might have mentioned this but my favourite and best goal ever was Brett Angel against Swindon. The ball came to him about 30 yards out and im sure it was a pass to a fellow player however he hit it so sweetly the ball looped up at speed and into the top corner of the net. One of my first and roots hall... will never forget it. Obviously most of Stans and a fair few of Freddies are also top notch.

Micky Touhy - vs carlisle 1979

Ricky Otto - vs Swindon 1992

John walker - vs Wealdstone 1979

Stan Collymore -vs Bristol Rovers (1st) 1992

Steve Goodwin - vs Watford 1978

There's mine for what it's worth.

Quality goal, great game aswell!

Andy Sussex vs Luton in the 2-1 victory last game of the 92-93 season.

Johnathan Hunt vs Birmingham City in the 3-1 win against Judas Fry.

Ricky Otto vs Derby County in the 3-1 win one of the best away performances I've witnessed.

Juppy vs Lincoln at Millennium Stadium purely for the emotion and celebrations that followed.

My favourite is Mike Marsh's looping volley in the 2-1 win against Ipswich Town in the 93rd Minute that ended the Tractor Boys promotion hopes.

In no particular order, and only goals I've seen.

1) Juppy in the play-off final. Superb skill by Eastwood to beat two men on the half way line, the other remaining defender was dragged across to him and he squared it to Juppy.

2) Eastwood Vs Man Utd - Super, super free kick. Still can't believe it.

3) Clarke Vs Gills - Clarke has already set two goals up superbly then decided to steal the show with a sublime chip.

4) Bramble Vs Luton in the Cup - Overhead kick, 5 minutes to go, in front of the South Stand. I went ****ing mental.

5) Gower at Bristol Rovers - Echo what everyone else has said.

Special mentiones to Eastwood Vs Hartlepool, and Oxford. Steven Clark Vs QPR.

Top five goals from matches I've been to:

1) Paul Byrne vs Norwich (02/03/96) - Ridiculous right footed drive from what now seems like around the half-way line but was in reality about 30 yards out. No keeper in the World would have stopped it.

2) Mike Marsh vs Ipswich (20/04/96) - Stoppage time in a local derby. We've just dropped out of contention for the Play-Offs but Ipswich were in them and on top form going in. Mike Marsh picks the ball up on half-way, the defenders back off so he carries on moving forward before smashing into the top corner from 25 yards.

3) John Neilson vs Bolton (07/09/96) - Probably the highlight of an otherwise horrid season was the 5-2 victory over top of the league Wanderers. They'd just equalised to make it 1-1, we went up the other end and got a corner almost straight away. I seem to remember it being nodded away by the first man but only as far as Nelly who was hanging around the left-hand side of the edge of the box and who met it with the sweetest volley you'll ever see.

4) Freddy Eastwood vs Hartlepool (25/03/2006) - Not the one by the corner flag (although that was awesome), this was the one 20 minutes earlier and summed up for me what a special player Freddy is. A first-time left-footed half-volley that steamed into the bottom corner before the keeper had even realised that there was any danger let alone had moved. Most other players would have taken a touch but not Freddy.

5) Freddy Eastwood vs Swansea (29/04/2006) - I was going to put Paul Byrne's mazy run and shot against Birmingham but I do love that first goal that Eastwood scored that great day at Swansea. The quickness of his feet bought him the sort of time that he shouldn't really be getting and he then lashed it across the keeper into the corner. Great goal at a great moment.

I wasn't at Preston but Alan McCormack's goal that day but that would have topped the lot had I have been.

your right about the Macca goal Beefy it would be in your top 5 I'm sure . Maher's goal that day wouldn't be far off either. I must admit I haven't read this thread but if you are going for Neilson's volley - great goal - what about Damien Searle's blockbuster ? And as for Freddy , well he scored so many dramatic goals its hard to know which ones to choose .I am not very good at these sort of things ( never watch the goal of the month thingy ) so I would hate to try and name a top 5 . I suspect top 10 would have been easier in some ways

Freddy Eastwood v Man u
Ricky otto V Barnsley
Paul Byrne v Birmingham
Mike Marsh v Ipswich
John Nielsen v Bolton

all of these have been mentioned on this thread at some point, these goals go down as favourites because of the occasions and the atmosphere at the games. The game v birmingham had one of the most electric atmospheres ive experienced at the hall, paul byrne was on fire that day and it was great to give barry fry a stuffin! great days all of em!

1) Phil Whelan's 25-yard header over Daryl Flahavan in front of a packed North Terrace filled with Sarfend fans

2) Drewe Broughton's bullet header into the same goal, having nearly been substituted, but sent back on to defend the corner which he subsequently knocked in.

3) David McSweeney's crassly inept back header in the last minute in front of the North Bank at the Hole, as we were clinging on for dear life at 1-0 with only 10 men.

4) Tes Bramble's winner in the previously mentioned game (see: 2)), as he fluffed a simple chance to put you in front, chased our counter-attack the entire length of the field to try and make up for his ineptitude, and finished a sweeping move by powering the ball into the top corner.

5) Freddy Eatswood's free kick against Man United, as any blow struck for the Football League against the Pr£mi£r$HITE is a good one. Plus it made Uxbridge happy and his little smiling face kept me cheery all evening.
