Fair enough, the stewarding should have been better, but the idiot troublemakers are the problem. Anyone who went on the pitch should be given long bans, and anyone who threw a punch a lifetime ban

society has moved on from this sort of behaviour. It was sad to see two family's having to be moved from the area for their safety. Appalling behaviour from kids who one day will be embarrassed by their actions.

I wasn't there, but shouldn't the police have been more pro-active?

Most stewards I've seen are decent folk, but not really up to stopping a fight very easily.

Mods, please delete this thread.

Ricey, im dissapointed in you. I have alot of respect for you & normally you write good & well balanced opinions in your posts.

However, please have an ounce of respect please, we still have a Cambridge fan in a coma from an away visit to ours.

We are not Millwall!.. we are a family club, so please dont to try and promote this stuff.

And us not having a thread has stopped 256000 people from watching this? The only way for stuff like this to go away is for the civilised to not hide away from it

I agree 100%. I'm not pushing the blame onto the stewarding at all. I just really felt for the few of them that were left on their own to sort out the mess.

I thought our players were fantastic with that incident. Several of them were pulling our supporters away and trying to diffuse the situation.

.

The Cambridge fan incident was well after the game and away from the ground and correct me if I am wrong but was it ever proven that it was Southend fans that did it.

How is it promoting it? I'm only pointing out that it's going global and not good for the club. All you have to do is log on to Facebook or Twitter and you will see it's everywhere! Maybe light can be shed on who the culprit is and it will help the authorities punish the ****.

Didn't help the complete lack of police inside the ground, unlike the Millwall games there was none down the corner of the stadium.

Colchester fans were giving it the big for 80 mins, fighting the stewards and themselves at one point, they were not Angels.

I'm afraid, it looks like society has returned to this sort of behaviour.

What make me laugh is the fact that from the first minute the col u fans were pushing the stewards and throwing punches at stewards and nothing was done. They broke through and just brazenly walked across the gap and started throwing coins etc. Again nothing done. Then bolger finds himself in front of there fans having made a clearance and gets assaulted. Yes I do mean assaulted. Was punched in the face. I'm not saying what happened was right and he should not have gone on the pitch but if the minimal police and stewards had done there job all game then it would not have happened full stop. For those of you moaning from the south the east or at the other end of the West. You wasn't there so don't just make snap judgements based on a distant view.

You've just realised our stewards are inept? Hahahahaha. It's been this way for years. Don't help when you got a snake Jay Page who's more interested in grassing home fans

I wasnt surprised Police werent there, unlike Millwall Col U arent exactly renowned for trouble making. Maybe one or two with the stewards would have stopped them trying to rush the Southend fans though. Pushing a steward is one thing, pushing a copper another.

Its certainly a bit rich of Col U fans to complain after the way they were behaving already. Of course letting one of our fans get to theirs was poor, but if they weren't preoccupied trying to hold back Col U fans trying to fight through them maybe they would have stopped him.

410,000 and counting . . .

Facebook counts views in a weird way for what it's worth, even if you scroll past it it's counted as a view (as long as it's playing for at least 3 seconds), and each play counts as a view. So it's a hugely inflated figure.

My mate is one of the security at Roots Hall and he got punched in the side of the head by one of our own fans. Disgusting behaviour and I hope they identify all involved and given lengthy bans. Scum.

I've been to plenty of games and have always made my judgement NOT to fight anyone. Personal responsibility is sadly lacking in this day and age it seems. Go ahead, blame the old bill, blame the stewards, blame anyone but yourselves if it makes you feel better. I trust you will all be digging deep to help the club out with the very sizable fine no doubt on it's way?
I'm sure the bloke (who is all over social media) who threw the punches is enjoying his beers at this very moment. I hope they taste good mate because that's the last time you will be allowed in to a home game. While you're laughing away with your mates just remember, you won't be at the next home game or the next or the one after that. You won't be there next season either or the next or the one after that. I trust your employers don't mind this sort or thing because remember, you're famous!
Hope it was worth it.
