Stan The Man is completely understandable ....... from puttiing up with reserve football to 1st team in Division 2 and scoring straight from the off with a manager who said "we have just signed a future England international" (how I laughed at that by the way).

The man was class. I've never seen such a player in a southend shirt.

It's funny, many people think it was Fry who signed him but it was Murphy.
 
Timlin will play 300 plus times for the club- but the big thing is other player will read that and look at other player like Barrett, and over time Prosser, Leonard and think it's clearly a good place to be- that's the image we will develop when player show this level of loyalty
